Canning Jars
Used to find cases of canning jars every now and then at Saul's in Mulege, but don't go there very often anymore, so am wondering if there is any
place else that might have cases of canning jars in Baja Sur.
Hope someone can give me a clue.
Thanks.

we looked all over last winter for some and came up empty...
good luck

I was in the Ley in Santa Rosalia Sunday. What a disaster that store is . . . for being relatively new.
I was hoping there might be some from around La Paz.
Thanks for your help.

The True Value in La Paz used to carry a good selection. I buy online for much better prices, especially on lids and normally get them by the case.

Damn, I was just in the True Value today in La Paz. Didn't look.
I am worried about ordering online and getting here broken.
Who do you order through?

Check the big segunda in Chametla. You'll have to dig through the plates and glassware, but they usually have some.
Experience enables you to recognize a mistake every time you repeat it.

Great idea. Lids and rings are a lot easier to order online to be delivered.
Thanks.

Mula, are you canning produce, or fish? If it is fish, does anyone know if commercial 'tins' are available in Baja?
I have processed a lot of salmon in last thirty years, and metal produces a better, more durable product than glass does. I prefer to can rather than
freeze my excess fish. Even with vacuum packing, the clock is ticking on the quality, and the temperature has to be just right for storage.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

AKGringo,
I also the last 30 years in Alaska used cans rather than jars.
For both smoked and plain - Copper River Reds. I fished Chitina yearly!
But for the amount of canning now, jars would be fine . . And then there's just me now not the family and it would be white fish, anyway. . .

I went to Prosan last week in Cabo, they had cases of mason jars, 3-4 different sizes.
