We always drive thru San Quintin on our way down south and have never had the opportunity to get to know the area at all, we would like to make a
short trip to San Quintin and spend a long weekend and enjoy the sites and probably my son can catch some waves on his new board. I've heard about "La
Ostionera" (Ostiones Guerrero) and Kilo's Zarandeados (Vicente Guerrero) and without a doubt "Molino Viejo".
As always we'll be traveling on a budget and have no experience lodging or dining there, any suggestions from fellow Nomads is greatly appreciated on
where to stay, where to dine and where to visit is most welcome. We usually stay at "Baja Cactus" and/or "TerraSal": we like the price and quality of
these places.

Great food at Parcela 12, just south of San Quintin
We have stayed at Hotel Mission Inn in Vicente Guerrero. Clean, great service, priced right and a good restaurant on premises.
Yes...!!! We certainly will be visiting Parcela Doce, it's a must every time we drive passed Ejido Nueva Odisea, last time (April) it was closed
(big party the nigh before we were told) so we went to the place across the road from it and it was good, I had really good menudo, my family had the
usual eggs and something breakfast, it's not all-you-can-eat or as good like "Parcela Doce" but it works.
I think Hotel Mission is just next door to "Kilo's Zarandeados"

we stayed at the Hotel Chavez on the highway, at the restaurant for breakfast the next morning the waiter said " sorry out of bacon, can I substitute
abalone chroizo".....replied" if you must,lol
We've stayed at both Hotel Jardines Baja and Mission Santa Maria (used to be a Desert Inn), and had good experiences at both. Jardines Baja is smaller
and doesn't feel like a chain. Very pleasant. Next to a nice restaurant. Mission Santa Maria is right on the windswept beach.
I'll second Villa de San Quintin hotel and Mission Santa Maria. I've not stayed at Jardines yet but everyone who has says good things about it.
Cielito Lindo near Mission Santa Maria has a good restaurant with killer margaritas. The last time I stayed there the hotel was a dump, that was
several years ago. I've heard they have since remodeled. The Malino Viejo restaurant is good.
Reviews of hotels and restaurants only? If its foggy, head inland to San Martir or hunt fossils inland. Fishing is also good. Explore the volcanic
cones. Dig deep, Amigo. Tio
I looked for this Parcela 12 place today and missed it. A km. marker nearby would be great to know. I did see a couple neat looking seafood
restaurants in the km. 3-9 area.

I wanted to visit San Quintin this weekend but health and my sons activities kept us home, so instead we'll probably head down mid July after my 15
year old returns from this summer's USSCC (Sea Cadet Corps) special training (Naval Rescue Swimmer) at Camp Pendleton.
This trip I don't think we'll be camping but would like to take the boat (16ft 1989 Larson) and cruise around San Quintin Bay and Bahia Falsa and
explore the area: oyster farms and see what's going on at Alvaro's at La Chorera ( http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=74717&got... ).
During our stay I'm considering Don Eddie's Landing -next door to Old Mill- (616) 165-1132 and (616) 165-6177 ( https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g499404-d8763728-Re... ) because its affordable ($45dlls/night double occupancy: 2 adults+2
boys), its right on the water thus we could launch from the municipal ramp next door: big plus and also it has a restaurant with great
reviews. I talked to Tony (the owner) and he sounds like a really nice guy and all the reviews about the place and him are very inviting. Any input is
greatly appreciated.
Old Mill $90dlls for 2 queen beds, $64dlls. for 4 single beds per night dbl. occ. 2+2, from the US: (855) 690-9272 ( https://www.eucaliptorestaurant.com/rooms ) seems overpriced ($90dlls dbl occ 2+2) and offer the same as Eddie's. Lady on phone not polite just
down to business: uninviting!!!
Hotel Jardines Baja $800 pesos dbl. occ. 2+2, nice garden setting (616) 165-6060 ( http://www.hotel-jardinesbaja.com/ ) seems like any very good option as well, not on the water but very inviting.
Fidel's El Pabellón Campground (616) 106-2176 ( https://www.facebook.com/pg/PabellonSQ/about/?ref=page_inter... ) looks like a great place to camp right on the beach: good reviews. couldn't
reach by phone but I'll email and wait for response and will update info.
And the "Regular" Hotels, all with good reviews and very polite on the phone:

Avoid Don Eddie's like the plague. It's for sale and the son has milked every last cent out of what was given to him. What's left isn't worth the
cost to bulldoze it and haul it away.
Every beautiful beach in the world needs a few condo towers - NOT.
If you have never been to Cielito Lindo, it is a classic retro Baja environment. Bar with mariachis, dinner - not too fancy - right on the beach. A
couple times I was there the beach has a brownish tinge - maybe pollution? Forewarned. But I've alway enjoyed the vibe here.
El Pabellon gives me a bad vibe. See what you think, but the last time I was planning on staying, there was nobody there - nobody in the office, no
campers. Too creepy - I left and camped at Cielito Lindo. Be sure to check a tide chart - if you try to launch at Old Mill at low tide, you won't
get far. Congrats for your son - super experience for him (Pendleton training).
