Regulations on clams at boarder


I can't find the list of prohibited items from Mexico to United States, and yes I did Google it . Want to know if I buy clams at fish market and have receipt can I bring across boarder?

hola freediverbrian,

over the past ten years, i have bought oysters in san quintin and declared them however, i am not so sure about clams but, we have brought back pismo clams from the san quintin beach when they were so plentiful a few years back.

I've brought back clams out of the shell many times. No issues if you declare it. Personal amounts, whatever that means.

We had clams taken away from us at the Mexicali crossing with the claim they were contaminated. They came from San Felipe. However, this was some years ago.
