Serenidad Dock

I'm heading to Mulege this week and wanted to launch my boat at the ramp in front of the Serenidad. I remember last summer that the dock was pulled out for hurricane season and only the concrete pier was left. Is that the case now? The dock was still there in early July but wasn't sure if it has since been removed.

Such a bummer about the new "ramp" being unusable; what a debacle. At least the dirt on the other side of the pier is usable!

Bob, do you (or any else) know if the dock is still attached to the pier? I can't launch alone without the dock so that's why I'm asking.

Just curious as to what you are launching. I launch solo by attaching a 50' line to the bow cleat and to the aft end of the trailer, back the boat in with a slight shove and pull the trailer forward out of the water. I get the line from the trailer and gently pull the bow up on the slope and throw out an anchor as I drive the truck and trailer away. Then again I'm only launching a 17 ft DC boat.

I'm launching a 24' ski boat inboard/outboard (so I'm always nervous about the prop). I do something similar but I attach the line from the boat to the cleat on the dock & then park the trailer with the boat secured to the dock. I typically don't ever beach the boat but suppose I could do so in a pinch.

Bob appreciate your offer and if you're in the area that would be great to know for sure. I'm actually heading down tomorrow (Thursday) so I can go look tomorrow night when I arrive. If the dock is gone I'll head down to Loreto a little earlier than planned and just hang out down there. My boat lives in Loreto during hurricane season and I am late moving her this year. Figured I'd squeeze in another day of boating on the bay if possible (my favorite place to boat anywhere) before heading down to Loreto on Saturday.

OK I see your point. 24' is just a little bigger than mine :-)

Just in case anyone's interested, the dock is still there. Perfect conditions on the bay yesterday too! Today's a different story unfortunately...

I didn't but will do so now. Weather definitely got better for sure! Launching yesterday was a snap; but pulling the boat out of the Oasis today with the mud is a bit more challenging...!

It was, on the other side of the dock. Unfortunately it's too shallow and nobody uses it. Really a shame that they went to all the effort to put in a nice concrete ramp that nobody can use. What a major screw up.

Everyone just launches on the other side (which is dirt) and it seems to work fine.
