I don't have either but am interested if you are referencing the one outside of La Paz or on Bay of Conception?

This is what I thought Baja looked like in 1963 when I saw these palms on an old Auto Club Travel Book cover on traveling to the remote area called "Baja California". I was hooked for life. Does anyone have a copy of that cover? Sure would love to see it again!

The cover of the 1971 Sunset Travel Book to Baja California is a photo of Coyote Bay. I have scanned it, but for the life of me, I can't figure out how to post it...and I'm supposed to be working now. Maybe I'll try later!

Elizabeth (and others) if you go to the Nomad Literature & Historic Interests Forum (here on Nomad), I have MANY older Baja guidebooks pictured... Here is the Sunset Guide, with the Coyote Bay cover...;)

Thanks David for the photo! I don't remember the one you posted but it still brings back memories. I recall seeing an old AAA photo or cover of Coyote Bay that was in Black and White that was in the sixties. Do you recall any????

Hi Juan,
Is this what you saw? It is a 1983 edition of the Auto Club Baja guide... showing El Coyote at Concepcion Bay.:light:

Wow...that's it! I thought for sure it was in Black and White! I'd like to use the photos for a little update on www.juanyjuan.com with permission from you and a link to the Nomads site for my March "Home" page. Has nothing to do about San Somewhere, but I think most people could relate who view the site and make the trek from the east road over. Thanks again for the great, old time photos!

Larry B, I have seen that photo before. It looks to me that that man has it all: the women, kid, dog, and the best spot. Life looks good from that vantage point.

I really like David K's magazine covers of Coyote Bay. All I need now is some sort of time machine to transport me back to that time when things seemed a little bit better. According to Jacobs Vehicle Systems website, the Jake Brake has been in use since 1961, so I will require a machine that is capable of time travel to the year 1960. I swear that the truck drivers try so hard and devote so much of their attention to getting the maximum noise output to the campsites below that it actually distracts them to the point of endangering themselves of running off the highway.
