That's my 15 yo driving the truck and 13 yo riding the bike.

You should do stuff with your kids sometimes instead of pounding on the keyboard all day long.

"Above" is probably north.
The sand dune field is huge and comes next to the road at the south end of the salina, south of El Datil. If you only drive the high road then you would not have seen them.
I took photos of them and camped there last August. See them in my TRIP #6 report here on Nomad (Baja Trip Reports forum).

Here's the GPS track and mileages north from San Juanico to El Datil. The dunes are 3 miles past the ranch and 10 miles south of El Datil or about 29 miles from San Juanico.
