Great read thanks. Good to see Short back on the bike. He has always been a classy guy. I can see both Brabec and Samuels getting some stage wins or
even running first and second a time or two.

Menzies is a great driver. The navigation part is what worries me. If he can figure that out he should do well.

NBC Sports channel is showing the rally(sort of). First show is Sunday 1-7-18 at 2:30 pm. Channels 81 & 723 on Comcast in the Bay Area.

im lost, I can't figure this out. NBCsports TV schedule doesn't show it....anyone figure out how to view it on directv?

NBC Sports channel is #220 on Directv. Shows Dakar 2:30pm Sunday 1/7 on my program guide. I have it set up to record all showings.

Just what do you think is the dollar figure on a Dakar bike? I know what I have in my KTM 500 and it wouldn't compete with these bikes!

Just for the bike my guess is in the $25,000 range. But that is more of a guess. The support crews, parts etc probably $250,000-$500,000, again just a
guess. Flying in bikes, people, parts and support vehicles is not cheap. Throw in a helo and the price can get out of hand quick.

I bet the factory supported bikes have 100k plus into them. They say the factory supercross bikes have a 100k in them so why not the Dakar bikes?
