Special permit for converted Ram 2500 cargo van???!

Bought a Ram promaster 2500 that I will be converting for next years trip. I was reading in another thread before our trip last December that a special permit is required for RV type vehicles. True or not???!

Recently motor homes have been only asked for the reg
and possibly vin. Not that this is what you are referring to,
but a crosser with a converted school bus was denied entry
at Calexico. I don't believe you will have a problem with
a 3/4 van, but it is Mex.
nor be required to get a permit, Temp Import Permit which
I assume you are referring to.
