MRI in Tijuana
Hello Nomads,
I have a good friend who needs an MRI done in the border area, preferably Tijuana.
Any recommendations?
Should he walk across? Is there a shuttle? Should he just drive across? He's not a seasoned cross border explorer.
Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I'm not sure but I would start at Hospital Angeles or Hospital Excel. For a TJ newbie I recommend walk across and get a cab. I'm also not sure about
Uber. It operates in TJ but the border area may still be locked up by traditional cab drivers. There is friction between Uber and regular cabbies.
Both hospitals are close to the border, in the Zona Rio area.

Thanks for mentioning Uber. I had thoughts of mentioning that in my initial post but completely forgot.
Thank you for the advice on those two hospitals.

Taxi, Uber - anything but driving. Long lines at the border when going North, and horrible traffic in this area after 3pm, words can't describe it.
Transit bus from the border to Hospital Angeles costs less than a dollar, less stressful than driving, though can be confusing for a newbie.

For a few years my wife and I saw an anesthesiologist at the EXCEL medical center in the Rio area on Ave De Los Heroes. Every specialty available
there. English spoken and all though we did not have an invasive procedure done was squared away. You would need to contact the facility first
rather than just walk in. Hell you might shop a few of them.

Some Years Ago, I Had an MRI
At this clinic in Tijuana. I was referred to it by a neurologist at Hosital Los Angeles.
It is located between Ninoes Heroes Blvd. and Aguascalientes Blvd. Their equipment was state of the art.
A bit later, I had an MRI at Scripps.
The Tijuana facility was better.
