Amlo takes over, what changes are in store for baja?
I hear amlo has proposed moving the immigration HQ from DF to TJ.
What other changes are proposed for baja?
I suspect that if immigration jefes move from DF to TJ the customs and immigration rules at Otay and SY will be run by the book, eh?
Woke!
“...ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country.” “My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America
will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.”
Prefered gender pronoun: the royal we

Wouldn't that be nice....either get the proper entry visa or stay home. With clearly posted signage to that effect on the approach roadways, walkways,
trolleys and at every taxi stand.....and the consequeneces of not following the law of the land.
If someone can put up signs "NO GUNS IN MEXICO", they can surely put up signs "NO VISA, NO ENTRY"
Also promised is to fight corruption...
Don't they all say that on the stump?

Following the laws of the country you want to live in, or visit to, as a foreign national, is now some goodie two shoed zealot?
You idiots should be sentenced to reading the Mexican laws concerning immigration/tourism while on the bus north under orders to get out.

A lot of folks around here long for the good O'l day's when Baja was just like the wild wild West. It's now loosing the charms that made people fall
head over heels in LOVE with Baja .
So understandable....
Since I've given up all hope, I feel much better

Perhaps, politicians around the world should take part in a traditional cleansing, to help rid themselves and their countries of corruption like AMLO.
I expect great things from the left leaning AMLO, but he is going to need time to turn things around.

Herbs, incense, a wooden staff — Mexico's indigenous cultures take the inaugural stage to purify the new president
Newly inaugurated Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador received a traditional cleansing during an indigenous ceremony Saturday in Mexico
City’s central plaza, or zocalo.
At one point, Lopez Obrador, who was sworn into office Saturday for a six-year term, dropped to his knees in a cloud of incense as indigenous healers
performed a rite of purification, brushing him with bunches of herbs.

True dat...…...especially the fishing
Now I have to WORK to get bit.
As with most things.....growth brings restrictions on who, when and where.
Wiki says:.....
According to the 2010 National Census, there are 961,121 immigrants registered with the government as living in Mexico, the majority of whom are US
citizens.[1] This is almost double the 492,617 foreign-born residents counted in the 2000 Census.
Unofficial estimates make the call of around 4 million immigrants residing in Mexico.

Selling the presidential aircraft, staying in his private residence and opening Los Pinos, (the presidential Palace in Chapultepec Park), to the
public as a museum, making it mandatory that all government officials use public means of travel and other measures of leading by example were all
included in his speech yesterday. A breath of fresh air and a good start.
Think Potus would even consider this his first day in office?

I really enjoyed watching his inauguration with the indigenous cleansing and support and loved his speech. He arrived in his personal Volkswagen I
think it was...not a big limo.
He mentioned that he was going to hook up the whole country to internet via the power lines so there would be internet on all the highways for better
safety and internet would be free for schools, public areas etc. A President for the people...what a concept eh.
Oh and gas prices were down today at the gas station too...wooo hooo. Here we are filling up jerry jugs for a really neat cruising couple...a
helicopter medic and his emergency room medic wife. YOu should see their medicine kit!

What a novel idea. If only some leaders in the US would try this. Both parties.
He has the potential to be a unique leader if he's allowed to follow through....sometimes the forces unseen undermine good leadership - I hope not

I could attack you personally or inquire where you were taught to spel - but your vacuous rejoinder only reenforces my point. No one (criminals
excluded) has ever been sent back to the border on a bus. Why? Because Mexico has something the US does not, flexibility. Except in the severest of
crimes, or if you publicly embarass an official, THINGS can be worked out.

Don't brother trying to explain flexibility to the rigid one. He will just cite the rules like a hall monitor even if he knows most people don't
always follow the rules, especially if they don't consider the rules fair. ( tell him Trump, breaks the rules and he remains silent)
I am very pleased that many Nomad members seem to be willing to give AMLO a chance.
