Bahia de Los Angeles gas station?

Does any one know if the new gas station is open? :light: It would be nice to pull the boat down with the fuel tanks empty and fuel up in town.

Pemex

We were by there last week and it looks to be almost complete. Was told it would be a week or two at that time.

We'll have to wait for Mia...

She's probably the only one who can give a first hand reply, unless Doc ever updates his webpage.

mouth: the new gas station is not open and no one is telling us when it will be. Three days of major wind but it's supposed to improve tomorrow.

Quis?s manana

to steal a phrase from Osprey's recent eloguent and evocative essay about the mind altering nature of Mexican time.

Otherwise translated as; don't let your gas tanks go below half full, if you can help it, especially if you are determined to get where you are going on a strict gringo schedule.

Two sources......

....both at the Fred Hall show claimed that the fuel is already in the tanks and they are waiting on the final permit (aka mordida? ) to begin dispensing.

If that won't be till late summer, then both the diesel and the gasolina will be bad.

Bring your biocide and water dispersants, if this is true.

I would love to tow my boat empty through the hills south of El Rosario and pull into a Pemex at BOLA. It would be like 1980 all over again.

Thanks everyone for your updates. It sounds like the normal operation of filling up in El Rosario and lugging full fuel tanks. Hopefully they will be open in June/July timeframe.

Hola,

It's Mia...

No, the Pemex Station is not up and running yet. Victoria and Sergio said a few weeks back that it would be open soon, but....well, you know how things are.

I was up North for a while, and now that I'm back, my Starband is down....:fire:, so I am trying to get that restored. Then I can update my website and put all the latest info up there.

But no gas station yet. Alfredo at Casa Diaz and Jose Luis are both still selling gas.

BE CAREFUL if you buy from the vendors up at the turnoff. They shorted me last time I bought gas there, so maybe heft the can first before they siphon it into your tank.
