Hi,

The Mulege Chili & Pozole Cook Off will be March 24, 2019 on the Malecon. Chile and Pozole (new category this year) needs to be ready for the Judges to pick up at 11:00 AM. Once the Judges have every participants sample - everyone can sample. However, the bar does open at 10:00 AM.
At the Cook Off we will also have Mulege's largest Auction, both live and silent. All proceeds go to the Mulege Rotary Club and will be utilized in the Mulege Community.
More information will soon be available on the Mulege Rotary Clubs facebook page.
See ya there!

Have to drive through town to the north side of the estuary. the maleccon is on that side. concrete slab put in several years ago parking across the street. always a good time.
Through the arch into town and just stay going forward for a couple of miles. you are out of the main part of town to get there....

Blanca, I'm sure you're familiar with Mulege... enter town, take the main drag into the city center, and just keep on truckin' eastward. Through the 4-way stop, keep goin' past the church, on past Saul's Mercado, and another mile or so on yer way to the light house, can't miss the malecon.

Tell Les he needs a new t-shirt (my original '96 is now in tatters) and come hungry. It's a lot of fun, arrive early, buy into the fun of it all, and all to a good..... no, a GREAT cause. Wish I were there again, but alas, not to be. Salud!

It's the area in front of Huerta Don Chano RV Park on the river. I guess there was something more here before the storms took it out.

and don't forget to see the mission... back on Hwy. 1, turn south, over the bridge then take the paved road left, down under the bridge and up to the mission parking.

Why would you even post something like this. It's stuff like this that drives other posters away. What the hell is wrong with you?

We really haven't been to Mulege in a long, long time and the photos and information really help!

Thank you everyone who explained how to get there.

We've all been trying to figure THAT out for a few years now. Clearly a social media disability disorder, bent on disruption first. It is a growing contagion here.

These Hollow Men are certainly contributing to the demise of this board. So many legitimate aficionados of Baja and Mexico, overall, just no longer post. Why have your posts challenged by persons who RARELY, IF EVER, GO TO MEXICO? They know NOTHING about our experiences down here!!

Yet, despite the decline, there is still some good information here; their illogical, divisive rants, notwithstanding. And the format is a much more organized and easy to read fashion than Talk Baja or any blog on Baja that I have seen.

"The eyes are not here
There are no eyes here
In this valley of dying stars
In this hollow valley
This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms

In this last of meeting places
We grope together
And avoid speech
Gathered on this beach of the tumid river..........

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends

Not with a bang, but a whimper."

Eliot's poem is such a "prescient" message for this board, it's administrators and it's legitimate members.......even though it was written nearly 100 years ago.

Stand up against these Hollow Men, or lose this valuable resource we have cherished so long!

Jesus, if you want to try to attack me and blame me for the decline of 'Baja Nomad.' At least try try to pick a thread that's at least controversial and I stepped on some toes.

I picked up cooking as a hobby about three years ago, and since this thread is about a chili cook out. I want to see some chili recipes......that's all.

Feed a fever, STARVE A TROLL.

Any return is food for fodder with a few here. I posted and deleted knowing i'd give delight to capitalize on.

The more you IGNORE the smaller they get.

Does that even work, and if so, why aren't you following your own advice?

I could have easily chosen one like that. There are so many to choose from. But most people veer away from your long-winded bombast, at this point.

But this one, where you lash out at someone about a CHILI COOKOFF (OMG, what a riot!) is so exemplary of your mental demeanor, that it's the perfect indicator of your malaise.

Congratulations on providing us with this jewel.
