Driving on Good Friday in northern Baja

The most interesting NB drive along Hwy 1 I've ever had was on Good Friday, 2015.

We left SQ after breakfast at Don Eddies, and easily made it to Guadalupe Valley for lunch.

There were no commercial trucks & very few passenger cars. It was wonderful!

We crossed at Tecate- there were two cars in front of us.

OTOH- there was heavy SB traffic as families left the cities to head south for Pascua observances. Pickup trucks and family vans were piled high with people, luggage, and plastic chairs for family gatherings.

Also memorable: Processions of indigenous people, with men carrying crucifixes, conducting religious observances thru the SQ agricultural fields.

\"Probably the airplanes will bring week-enders from Los Angeles before long, and the beautiful poor bedraggled old town will bloom with a Floridian ugliness.\" (John Steinbeck, 1940, discussing the future of La Paz, BCS, Mexico)

Good Friday... fish on friday...

The funny irony of a fish taco in Baja on Good Friday.

It's like eating a submarine sandwich... in a submarine...

Why do I have to 'splian everything to you Lucys?
