Want to rent a dual sport bike for slow and easy coastal ride
Your friend would probably be better off buying a good used bike.

Anything rental in Mexico is substandard or poorly maintained. Bikes, bicycles, ATV, kayaks, - you name it. Not much to choose from, and matching
3rd world mentality of the business owner.

Try some of the Baja tour companies, Chris Haynes or some of the others? You might find something in San Diego?

Looking for relaxing time, cheap hotels, good beer and good food.
Anywhere reliable to rent a decent bike short term for a reasonable price?
My guess is no as most people beat the h*ll out of the bikes - but throwing a fishing line out there anyway.
Open even to just a day rental here and there twixt Ensenada and La Paz or even Cabo. Or willing to ride with a local here and there who will show a
Brit (but former American) what Baja is about.
Suggestions welcome.
Don't force us to take a car, please... :-( But we will all the way if we have to. |

Larry ('bajatrailrider' here on Nomad) has a website: www.bajatrailrides.com
A great guy, full of life and full of fun! He is based in San Vicente, about 50 miles south of Ensenada.

Yep. Must be dozens outfits there. Don't forget to insure for entire Baja, this could be a problem with US rentals.

Totally support your right to write opinions even if I think the above opinion is factually incorrect. Your experiences, if that's what your
opinion is based on, makes me think you don't know Baja.
Oh yeah. And the swipe at Baja business owners? Not my experience.

Alm your blanket statement is mostly true about people that rent dirt bikes in Mexico.. let's clear this up the tour company does not rent bikes. You
go on tour with the company 1 day 10 days or what ever. There bikes are as Good as it gets. As my bikes great shape with the many mods to ride Mexico.
