La Perla, La Paz

I normally stay at La Perla when visiting La Paz. I loooove it’s location, right in the heart of the Malecon.

It can be loud, especially on the weekends, but the AC does create some nice white noise.

The rooms are large and clean.
While looking around there to make this post it did seem rather old but that was while looking with a critical eye and it doesn’t feel that when in it. Outdated perhaps is a better word.

It’s great if you have babies/young kids. There is a section of the pool for wading, a rooftop play set and a beach play set across the street.

You get continental breakfast included, the restaurant is great for watching what’s going on, and they have room or poolside service as well.

It was mostly families staying, esp the weekend, but also lots of couples and 2 groups of American men that were there to fish.

The price is very reasonable as well.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

My room

Not every pic, some are sideways and some are normal. Occasionally, I will have a narrow picture and it goes back to showing here sideways after it was okay. Of the last photo post, the third one is upside down (Malecon palms view south).

The hotel room bed photos are both upside down and the bathroom photo is sideways.

In the next post, the pool is normal but the lounge chairs are sideways, the last one is normal.

Where is parking for that hotel? Is it underneath the building and if so can a truck with camper shell fit in side? thanks

Thanks David, I’ll fix those.

Pbods, there is underground and a lot, fenced in, that is small and right there in view of everything with employees that are always outside by it. I’ll look for a pic.
A truck with a shell could definitely park there.
The yellow box is entrance to parking and small lot. They got a lot of cars in there.
Where you see the truck to the right and other car is the outside lot, they got at least 14 cars in it some days. Was impressive.

Try this place next time. It looks a good bit nicer than La Perla. Locked garage for your trucks, bikes, and toys.

Too far from the malecon and secured parking a block away? Nope.

Los Arcos

Sure miss the old Hotel Los Arcos. My favorite back in the day and still waiting for someone to reopen the place.

A friend came up to see the room and stayed on the balcony to watch the sunset.

They had a private security guard at Los Arcos every time I walked by. Guess keeping people out?

Oddly I saw 3 homeless people this trip on the Malecon.
One was an American though.

Hotel Perla is a bit outdated - but the price is reasonable
can't beat the location!

7-Crown on the Malecon is in a great location as well
but the room are tiny
parking for 5 small cars

I have used Hotel el Morro for clients with great success
at the northern end of the Malecon
quiet and great setting
street parking only
the cute little restaurant is gone

Hotel Lorimar is only a block from the Malecon
cute place - goo rates
good restaurant next door

You stay at the 2, and I'd guarantee which one you'd choose to stay at a 2nd time. There is a lot of crap close to the Malecon.
