What the heck?
I just bought an annual from Luara at Tiburon in San Quintin.
$45 cash american. We bought three.
She just wrote them out.
1 day or annual.
At like 6am.
I knocked on her door and she was ready.

I just bought my annual license online here for $38 like I've been doing for many years.

Not much to get worked up about. Here is what they say on their website.
‘The CONAPESCA Representative Office in San Diego is being reorganized as part of changes and improvements of the Mexican Federal Government. We are
working to implement new procedures to issue Mexican sport fishing licenses online and at this time are no longer issuing licenses when requested in
person or by mail.
Please consult our web site www.sportfishinginmexico.com for updates to this information.”
Looks like they are going to make life easy with online licensing, so all is good!
Plenty of places to get licenses in Mexico, in the mean time, while they roll out the 21st century e-licenses.
Woke!

Thanks steve!
Any idea if this license is good for both BC and BCS?

Great question. Yes, it is good not only in Baja but possibly all of Mexico but not 100% sure. After looking over my annual license, (which naturally
is in Spanish) I don't see anywhere that it states Baja and it actually refers to "commission nacional de acuacultura y pesca."
Defrag, are you aware that they sell licenses in the early morning in an office just to the left of the boat ramp?

Licenses are good throughout all of Mexico according to the place I last bought mine but are only required fishing from a boat, from shore none
required.

More importantly, any idea if licensing fees go to anything conservation related in Mexico, like they are supposed to?
It seems silly to a lot of us to continue paying into this clearly dysfunctional/corrupt organization (CONAPESCA) whose main goal seems to be to
overlook commercial excesses and their outright disdain for the fishing regs.
We had about an 18 month period about a year ago where THERE WERE NO LICENSES TO BE BOUGHT IN SONORA Don't know why, but enforcement officials
announced that they would not be enforcing having licenses while this situation was occurring.
What an unbelievable example of how dysfunctional CONAPESCA is. Think of the pesos lost.

went ahead and picked up a yearly license, I assume these charters captains have been including the license fee in our trip costs, but better safe
than sorry, eh?

Friend and I were out at the beach in Coronado recently and had the national park guard come through, he had CONAPESCA and some military onboard,
checking to make sure we had all our boat registration and national park passes, they also asked about fishing, which we were not doing that day.
So at least in this 1 isolated case someone was checking something.... inside a national marine park
Ive never seen them checking anyones fish at the marina and this is the first time I've ever actually encountered any officials on the water in the 6
months of being here. I really do not think there is much enforcement going on, but what do I know.

1. It's Mexico so depending upon which direction wind is blowing might influence ...
2. This has been go-to for US located guests that want to pre-purchase at substantial savings - example Daily has been USD $9.25 weekly - see
attached. For many this was sufficient inspiration to purchase in advance.
3. Tony spoke all the mumbo-jumbo about reorganization etc.
4. YMMV

All Federal waters of Mexico. Click on the U.S. flag for English.
You get a .pdf file so you can print as many as you need. You can go back to the site from anywhere with wifi and print it also - pretty handy if
you're in BoLA and lose your license.

Any regulations on the removal of marine life in Mexican, US or world waters of any kind should cost 10X more and be 10X harder to get. Then again
for what use? Tantos are still willing to pay $50K to kill a baby elephant.

What? The Long Rangers Kemosabe and good friend want to kill an elephant?
That's just wrong!
