Holiday closures?

I plan on leaving for Mulege on the 25th and stopping in Guerrero Negro that night and getting tourist visa's Friday or Sat. the 26th. But I think I remember someone saying the tourtist offices might be closed Fri. & Sat. because of Semana Santa? Is it realistic to drive from L.A to GN in one day leaving at 5:00am?

we try to leave san diego around 3am. that way, most of the nighttime driving is spent on the relatively safe toll road (no oncoming traffic around them blind curves.) by the time you're climing the hills outta maneadero the sun is close to coming up.

So Bruce....

Are all the immigration offices closed on those days? Or just Mulege? I am trying to get a tourist visa Thursday or Friday on the way to GN ....Trying to avoid TJ because I heard it will be real crowded all this week..... or is that the only option?
Thanks for all your help Mr. Leech

Bruce - the imigration office in San Felipe was open for business as usual today - Monday the 21st. Don't know their plans for Thurs or Fri but expect them to be closed at least on Fri.

Up here it's mostly people doing FM2's or FM3's and do part of the paperwork today or pick up completed etc. Not many FMT's here.

The immigration offices here in Loreto Thurs and Fri. The G.N. check point is only open 8am-4pm daily, since it is a state check point don;'t know for sure if they are open for FMT's Thurs/Fri. I would do it at San Ysidro. Or try calling the Loreto office. for info
