Land lease or Fido?
US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.
What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

All the homes in the resort are under a land lease. Any other questions?

The resort uses space rent similar to mobile home parks. The last increase was 6 years ago of 10%. Reasonable compared to Cabo and La Paz.

Hey jan482011 - I think there's a commission that needs to be paid when selling a place at Estero, is that 15%?
Do people selling there bake that into the sale price, or?

Playa "Where did the beach go?" Estero -
Those gypsy's raise the rental charge every year or two about 8% for one
BS reason or another.
Water fees, security fees, maintenance fees, etc, etc.

I know it's common practice, but a Mexican lease (a Mexican contract) expressed in dollars always seemed fishy to me. In the past 10 years or so the
recipient has almost doubled the number of pesos received without raising the dollar amount.
If they raise the dollar amount periodically, they're really making out, peso wise.

The 15% is a one time fee on the sale of the house. Personal items have nothing to do with the 15%.
Do you own a house in the resort? knowing a few of the homeowners, this has no merit.

I have a relative who has owned a couple of homes in there over three + decades, and thought that the resort takes a 15% cut of the purchase price
every time a place changes hands. I'm not sure if they collect from the seller or the buyer, or put another way, if that 15% is already factored into
your asking price?
