Tecate - El lugar de nos

We had a super quick trip today and on the way back decided to stop here before crossing back to the US. Easy to get to location and LOTS of parking. And it turned out to be the "trifecta" of baja restaurant criteria! Food quality was fantastic (and I think that's an understatement), restaurant was very clean and welcoming, and the prices were great!

The meal started with an on-the-house plate of bread with some oil and cream-based sauce. This was very good (we asked for seconds!).

One in our party ordered the chipotle chicken panini, another the greek salad, another the clam chowder bread bowl, and I got the bacon-wrapped shrimp risotto. Our least favorite was the clam chowder; the bread bowl was burned on the outside, and the soup was just slightly under-seasoned. Everything else was absolutely amazing. The bill for all this plus drinks was under $37.

The service was fantastic as well. At 1PM on a Thursday, we took our time, and we were in and out in about 35 minutes.

I HIGHLY recommend this place, and am excited to go back!

Wonderful review! I guess I need to open up Google Earth to see where that is? Thank you!

Great to see... easy to find, west of the road coming down from the border, southbound.
Thanks!
