Are you near Campos Octillo?

If you are near Campos Octillo, will you please pass on the following info to:
Burt and Adrianna. Can you please give them my email address? . Ask them to email me so that I can make contact with them. There are some important issues I need to find out about.
They're at the "Y" of the intersection of the road. Cement block house under construction. They are Aussies. Thanks to who ever can do this for me.

Yankee, I am going to town today to make copies of our poker run map. I will give Bert your address if he is home. I went out to see them Sunday and there was no sign of them. Rob
PS Did you ever make it to the consulate in Sacto?

No...I did not get there BajaRob. Hey....you are SUPER to get that note to them for me! If they are not home, will you slip it under the their door or leave it with Salvador...the property caretaker? I am trying to following thru if my power was installed on the lot, yet. And a few other things. Have decided to make the drive towards the end of April if this wind ever dies down!

I stopped by today and they were not home. I went to the neighbors with the pool (strawbale home) and he said he knew them and would make sure they got your email address today and the message to email SOON. He saw them going to town this morning when he was coming home from town. I have no doubt the message will be delivered today.

South Campos Poker Run

Paul, the Poker Run is this Saturday. It starts and ends @ our Community Center @ KM 35 ( behind Dr Pepe's office and Chelo's ). The cost is $20 per entry which includes a tee shirt, poker hand for prizes, and 3 drink tickets. The net proceeds benefit the children of the Poblado. The event is open to all and we expect 100-120 entrants. I am co-chair and have laid out an interesting route. I will be @ checkpoint 2 so if you make it please introduce yourself. Rob

Rob, can you post a map of the course here (if not before, then after the event)?

Yankee, I hope Rob fills in here... until he does my limited understanding of a poker run is that it is an off road race for novices. You race around a course in the desert, and at each checkpoint, collect a poker card... At the end, the best hand wins. It's not about speed, it's about fun.
Pete's Campo El Paraiso has been doing them for many years and Campo Laguna (now Rancho) Percebu as well, I think.

The Poker Runs here in San Felipe area are for all types of vehicles - rails, tubs, jeeps, quads, Motorcycles, and other. Speed isn't the object just having fun gettiing around the course. Luck of the draw getting the poker hand.

Poker Runs have been popular with motorcycle clubs in Calif. for years. Not offroad, just from town to town, stopping at selected bars for the poker cards to make the hand.

You'll be entering them when you get here Yankee

Poker Run

Yankee, David and Lou covered the basics of a Poker Run. It's a great chance to get out in the desert. Our route will take us south on the dirt road that parallels the highway, west to the old Puertecitos road, northwest to the foothills, east to the original Puertecitos road then north and east to the CC. I tried to attach the map but I got the error message that the file was too large. Rob

Rob... email me the map, and if possible I will either reduce it to fit here or put it on a web page with a hot link to it.
Thanks!

Hi Rob, Yes... the map was very large and that is why it would not post here without reducing.

One way to reduce it is to email it to yourself, and your PC will ask you if you want to reduce the image to send faster (click yes)... It still may need further sizing, but it will be a lot closer. I then saved the image to my files (you might do that without sending it, also).

Once it is in your files... double click on it and the photo edit feature pops up. There choose to resize it. At 500 pixels, it was about 30KB, well under Doug's 50KB limit. Most images have much more detail than this map, and down around 350 pixels will be near 50KB. It varies from image to image.

I will also post this on the off road forum here.
