Illegal border crossings update
West Wing Reads
Illegal Immigrant Crossings Fall 78% and Once Overcrowded Cells are Empty
“There are a lot of statistics Mark A. Morgan, acting U.S. Customs and Border Protection commissioner, uses to show how Trump policies have helped
to cut illegal immigration into the United States”—but there are two that he thinks really make that accomplishment clear, Paul Bedard reports for
the Washington Examiner.
"First is daily apprehensions, a number that hit 4,600 at the height of the latest crisis in May. That has now dropped to 1,300. What’s more, he
said, the 21-daily average is below 1,000, a 78% cut."
Second, detention facilities that once had five times more illegal immigrants in custody than beds available are now well below capacity. That’s
good news for American citizens, legal immigrants, victims of human smuggling, and our law enforcement officers.

This is very good news for US taxpayers, legal immigrants, and illegals subjecting themselves to futile, dangerous conditions, with false hope of
gaining entry to the US. Hopefully this trend will continue.

well, not good news if you follow the drywall contractors or plasterers in home construction. Builders are estimating, due to increasing time to
deliver product, that this will add $4000-$6000 to the cost of home construction. Something like 94% of drywall and 89% of the plaster (Stucco) is
installed by people coming thru the border without docs.
I see it every day.
Most of you who love this stuff see nothing but tweets from HWMBO.
Maybe a comprehensive immigration policy would be a good idea. Right.....

I should believe this why?
If anything is coming out of the WH, it's lies and more lies.
US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.
What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

U.S. Border Patrol Southwest Border Apprehensions by Sector Fiscal Year 2020
This isn't from the WH ... rather the Agency that "counts" as required by Federal Law .. Title 8 .. those that enter illegally and are arrested and/or
detained.
https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/sw-border-migration/usbp-...
One could deduce that the number's used by the WH ... were based on these figures collected by the Agency charged with enforcement of Title 8
If some wish to dismiss these numerical results ... these are Public Records and could be obtain by using the FOIA .... Which then could be reviewed
for accuracy.
note, significant decreases in San Diego County, Imperial, AZ and other counties in Texas and New Mexico
An interesting read IMO

The numbers have been decreasing since 2001. Look back in history to get a clear look at what is going on. ANother case of tRump taking credit for
something he had nothing to do with. Maybe we ought to add these lies to his impeachment crimes. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/news/crisis-border-not-numbe...

Immigration Timeline
One could say that the overall "trend" since the mid 1960's immigration changes, has been an increase in illegal entry into the United States, based
on the "numbers"

I looked at the number of apprehensions versus the number of border patrol agents, and it dropped from 164 per agent each year down to something like
18. It is a particular sort of torture to sit in a truck all day with nothing to do.

When Trump cures cancer, you'll ask, "what took you so long."

trump is gods gift to mankind. a true miracle worker. sent by god.
he has been indicted by house, is about to be on trail in senate; will be tried for war crimes at the hague following removal from office. he will go
down as a martyr, and will likely be canonized by pope francis.
Woke!

Would appear that facts do not have much support by some here
"By the start of the 1970s, the number of illegal aliens had tripled since 1965, and four out of five illegal immigrants arriving to the U.S. are from
Mexico. By 1972, the now-defunct Immigration and Naturalization Service estimated that the illegal immigrant population had topped 1 million, leading
many to call illegal immigration out of control. For the rest of the decade, the estimates of the country's illegal immigrant population varied
widely. In 1975, the U.S. House of Representatives introduced a bill providing for amnesty along with employer sanctions for hiring illegal
immigrants. Concerned about the rise in illegal immigration, President Gerald Ford set up a Domestic Council Committee on Illegal Aliens, which
reported that illegal immigrants were driving down the wages of low-skilled workers. The committee findings urged employer sanctions, harsher
penalties for smugglers and an amnesty program. Congress was dissatisfied with the proposals, and in 1978 passed a law to create the Select Commission
on Immigration and Refugee Policy to further explore national solutions. Under the Carter administration, the Select Commission determined that the
nation’s immigration policy was in disarray. The Select Commission recommended a focus on law enforcement, such as employer sanctions for hiring
illegal immigrants, and better border security. It simultaneously rejected a foreign guest-worker program, while supporting amnesty for illegal
immigrants. Little action was taken immediately."

and Border Protection; Migration Policy Institute; Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas; International Migration Review; "Targeting Immigrants: Government,
Technology, and Ethics"; Yale Law Journal."

btw in 1960 there were roughly half a million Mexicans in the United States
