Roads I have driven lately 1/21 - 1/25)

I won't be doing a trip report, posting photos or GPS data, but if someone has a question about one of the routes I will try and answer them.

South on Mex 5, then Mex 1 to Guerrero Negro.

From San Ignacio to San Juanico on what I guess is called the high road. (never got near the flats!)

San Isidro to Comondu, then continued on to San Javier, then west to the coast road north of Ciudad Constitution.

I left Mex 1 and headed east to San Everisto, then turned south to Centennario and Chametla (sp)

The internet is down here at the camp, so my replies will be sporadic.

I thoroughly enjoyed my drive!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Thanks AK, as soon as you have the ability or inclination, I would enjoy hearing about each part.

The one I guess I am most interested in is the Gonzaga-Chapala gap. Are you on or next to the new roadbed 100% or still detour around the cut into the canyon? How much dirt? Did you note any kilometer markers south of Km.168, like the roads to Coco's?

Thanks!!!

meaning you don't like to be corrected.

Like all good teachers, David can be annoying at times - but he offers us chances to learn.

Thank you... I may be annoying only to those who hate the facts, lol. Seriously, I am a fun loving person... Just very passionate about Baja history.

I do speak Spanish, just not fluently. Enough words to do well... I would love to speak it better, however.

chippy, Comondú is NOT a Spanish word. It is the Cochimí Indian name for the place the mission was first established, in 1708. The mission is named San José (at Comondú). I am no spelling cop... I only help teach 'place name' spelling not Spanish 'ordinary' words.

Above it was spelled 'Comundo', twice... I just didn't want it to get out of control, LOL!

It´s no big thing DK it´s just that you make plenty of spelling mistakes in english (as do I) but never correct yours or others mistakes in said language. Kinda funny. Cop on amigo:P.

I know I do, as I said it is not about spelling of words, but of PLACES that I can help with. Places are history and my passion is history.

we all make mistakes - that is how we learn

but it should not keep us from correcting each other and learning
what is wrong with attempting to do better?

at first a mistake can be ok - after many repeats it expresses disrespect

Would you also find it funny (and irritating) for someone who speaks English to point out the errors in English grammar in your response to David K?

It is good to get down here again! My trip last year was scuttled when my Kia broke down in The Nevada, and I had to get it hauled back to The Grass Valley!

No pictures Blanca, but thanks for the offer. I usually travel with an old school Nikon compact digital camera, but it was missing in action when I was packing for the trip.

I thought I would force myself to use my phone like most Nomads do, but the first time I stopped to capture the beauty of the green desert, it was missing too! I thought I had lost it in Guerrero Negro when I used it there, but it had actually slid under some of the load in my Isuzu, and I found it when I got to Maranatha.

Still no internet at the camp!

But there is a WIFI spot at the coffee shop at the corner, so I will spend some time there tomorrow morning to add some info.
