Mexicali crossing

Talked to my friends heading north. They expect to cross N. at Mexicali manana. They asked for info on east or west crossings, times advise?

Just old friends heading home. Camping out on the way to avoid fellow man. Asking for any "local" knowledge. Assuming US citizens can still get home to their own beds.

things have changed recently with all the travel advisories and so many people staying put,... the commuting/line patterns are not set or predictable,... so just pick a crossing and go!

sometimes you travelers needs to ask fewer questions and just do it!

Woke!

Generally, I agree, that's how I roll - but - I see no harm in using this very active forum to solicit advice from people that may be harboring an interesting nugget of info. Really just looking for helpful info not advice on how to live my life. But, I'm glad you're interested/

Had friends cross Mexicali West a couple days ago. Business as usual. No problems. No issues. Short lines.

On 3/23 at 12:30pm Mexicali East general lane drove right to the gate. Nobody in line ahead of me or behind, no more than a 20 second interrogation by CPB. Six hours BdeLA to US soil.

My friends crossed today at Mexicali east. They said there were only 2 cars ahead of them and were practically waved through.

So, for those who have traveled north, or know someone who did, how has the hotel situation been? We have a long drive ahead of us, heading east.

I made reservations and called all my hotels to confirm they are open. Since I'm not leaving until middle of April, I'll call again before I leave.
None are serving morning buffet, just a muffin and fruit.

Thanks for the update on Mexicali East. I'm heading back to Canada.

BTW, Thanks for all the helpful tips. Notwithstanding the yammering dullards this is still the best place to get quick, up to date answers.
