Cinco de Mayo indeed

The holiday made famous by Bud Lite.....

And celebrating the loss of the battle of Puebla...
Well, at least the Mexicans stood off the French on Cinco
But on Seis, the French marched around Puebla and on into D.F.

Cinco de Mayo

I celebrated with a plate of chiliquiles roja, con dos huevos fritos this morning. Sadly, I had to cook it myself!

Great post, Paco - in tribute to these thoughts, I'll sip some tequila later this afternoon. Salud!

“ It’s a mess out there now. Hard to discern between what’s a real threat and what is just simple panic and hysteria. For a small amount of perspective at this moment, imagine you were born in 1900.
On your 14th birthday, World War I starts, and ends on your 18th birthday. 22 million people perish in that war. Later in the year, a Spanish Flu epidemic hits the planet and runs until your 20th birthday. 50 million people die from it in those two years. Yes, 50 million.“

My Father was born in 1900! That the story of his life. He and the rest of our family survived the war, flu, depression, another war, 4 terms of FDR, a “Police Action in Korea”, more cutbacks and layoffs in the Aerospace Industry than can be counted and he lived to 90.

I don’t need to imagine! I was there for half of it! The U.S. nuked japan for my 1st birthday!
