Glad they got it under control! We don't want another San Ignacio incident...

Mulege palm fire
The aftermath of fire today in Mulege looking from the mission. No structures and lives lost though.

I have seen several palm groves stripped of their fronds by fires or hurricanes. It is amazing to come back the next year and see how many spout new
tops and carry on.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

Fire in Mulege?
https://www.facebook.com/BCSnoticias/videos/667103674023495/...
On another blog the fire shown at the attached link was reported as being in Mulege on 6 May. Surprised there is no mention of it on this blog so I'm
wondering if it is fake news.

Plenty of photos from different people during and after the fire show validity to the story. See the Baja News forum here on Nomad.

Wasn't all that bad. The fire was contained by firemen in about 5 hours. There was still a firetruck in the palm grove yesterday evening, standing by
to put out any remaining hotspots. A small percentage of the grove west of the bridge and a bit north of the town entrance burned. Firefighters from
Mulege and surrounding towns responded and apparently did a good job.
