Los Cabos hopes to revive tourism in June
--
Los Cabos also hopes to revive tourism as of June with a five-phase plan: initially, the region will focus on implementing health and safety
guidelines across its travel industry. Most notably, travel suppliers that meet high hygiene standards will receive a "Clean Point" quality
certification from the Mexican government.
Come July, many hotels will start accepting guests, says Rodrigo Esponda, the managing director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board, and the international
terminal at the airport is also expected to reopen.
In August and September, the plan is to welcome travelers from within Mexico and internationally, especially those who had to postpone their trips due
to Covid-19. By the first quarter of 2021, the region hopes to restore 60 percent of air connectivity, along with 80 percent of bookings.
"We are anticipating 40 percent fewer visitors in 2020 than we had in 2019," says Esponda. "We had a strong start to the year and see a lot of repeat
visitors from California which helps us a lot."

"Pisces reported that some Cabo San Lucas hotels will open as early as May 30, and that hundreds of businesses and individuals have been training
(virtually) with state health officials for the eventual re-opening of the iconic tourism destination at Baja California's tip."

Good. Great to hear.
Hotels never closed in the US. Stayed at 7 different hotels in April and May. A friend was in Austin this week and said his hotel was packed. He
flew from Seattle.
Stuff is getting back to normal.

Rosewood Announces July Reopening Of Las Ventanas Al Paraiso In Los Cabos
'After a three-month pause in operations due to the coronavirus pandemic, Las Ventanas al Paraiso has announced plans to reopen on July 1, 2020—part
of a phased reopening of Los Cabos tourism, consistent with the easing of state and federal governmental restrictions.'

Not only normal, but today (so far) the Dow Jones is over 27,000 points and the unemployment rate dropped to 13% instead of the predicted 20%!
Recovery is happening already... but so sad that it is too late for so many businesses. Two of our favorite restaurants could not hold on... and
JCPenney is closing a lot of stores. AMC theaters may not reopen... 2020 is a year that so far has really sucked!

Of course the hotels are hoping to re-open and see customers,...
But still remains to be seen whether the epidemic will cooperate...

A Loreto local told me today the town is still locked down. Thinks it might open up 6/18? Heard there were 6 cases in town.

No direct indications that I see from BCS Turismo. Relevant resources seem to include:
https://twitter.com/secturbcs
https://twitter.com/gobbcs
https://www.elsudcaliforniano.com.mx/tags/temas/la-paz
From El Sudcaliforniano, reports of some permanent business closures, including Tailhunter:
--

So stop winning and hide under your bed. We’re going to Todos Santos the end of the month. We’ll send everyone a ‘postcard”.

Clarky....most people here in BCS will not welcome people back for awhile! We've been shuttered knowing there's little medical help available and
almost none locally! And you have been in a westcoast Hot Spot?! Bring a note from your doctor! Also. it's gonna get hot and humid soon; Not for
most. El Pescadero
