The largest carrier in Mexico is filing for protection; https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/aeromexico-files-f...

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

Google for the win: Grupo Aeroméxico is a Mexican airline group that operates national flag carrier, Aeromexico and regional carrier, Aeromexico Connect. The company is owned by a diverse group of private investors as well as by Fondos Banamex (a Citigroup subsidiary) and GBM. The company is headquartered in Mexico City.

I suspect they won't be the last-- all the airlines must be hemorrhaging cash right now. :o

And the airplane makers. Airbus is cutting 15,000 jobs, and Boeing? Man do they have problems.

I'd want SCUBA tanks filled with sanitized air before I got an airplane.

Just exercising an economic tool of commerce and exercise always builds strength.
Business have done this in the past and will in the future.
Nothing to see here, move on.

any business using aircraft is tough in good times. i worked at 4 that went under.
at one they gave us Manila envelops with cash to buy fuel after credit was terminated. another one gave instructions to prevent repo guys from seizing the aircraft. the only tougher biz is making airplanes. Boeing has operated like their hair was on fire since forever.

No sane person is going to get on an airplane this year. American just said yesterday they are selling/filling middle seats with fat, sweaty people that cough.
No one is going to buy a seat on a plane in 2020 except a few flat earther anti-maskers, and jizzy

Woke!

'Grupo Aeromexico SAB’s financing plan under its Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection filing could be ready in the next four to six weeks, Chief Executive Officer Andres Conesa said. The voluntary filing will allow the company to weather the coronavirus pandemic however long it may last, Conesa said in an interview Wednesday.'
