Trip Photos from this week, ... but 20 years ago!
Since most of us can't get to our favorite peninsula during this virus, any Baja is better than no Baja, I say! Even if the photos are small and not
too sharp from 20 years ago... Please enjoy!
July 22-28, 2000: Lorenzo de Baja (LdB) and I go sightseeing to some of northern Baja's historic and interesting locations.
Lorenzo was an older fellow who used to post on the Amigos de Baja message board. He and Ferna de Baja (FdB) were friends and we met up with Ferna in
Tijuana for lunch on the way south.
I was 42 and had not yet got my first Tacoma (that would come in November) so we used Lorenzo's Ford 4x4 pickup.
Here were our locations each day:
Sat. 7-22 Alta California to Tijuana, Ensenada (toll hwy.), Santo Tomas.
Sun. 7-23 Santo Tomas to El Rosario, Punta Baja, El Rosario, Km 80+, Punta San Carlos.
Mon. 7-24 Punta San Carlos, Las Pintas, Hwy.1(Km 80+), El Progreso, El Marmol, El Volcan.
Tue. 7-25 El Volcan, El Marmol, Cafe 'Sonora', El Progreso, Mision San Fernando & petros, Mina San Fernando, El Progreso, Km.103+, El Metate, San
Juan de Dios.
Wed. 7-26 San Juan de Dios, Km. 103+, El Rosario, San Quintin, San Telmo, Meling Ranch, Los Manzanos.
Thu. 7-27 Los Manzanos, Observatorio, Meling Ranch, San Vicente, Erendira, Baja Malibu Sur.
Fri. 7-28 Baja Malibu Sur, Ensenada, Tecate, Choral Pepper's, Home!

Come to think of it, almost every July meant a trip to Baja... By far the best month to enjoy the great outdoors... and not be cold! LOL
