Anyone recommend audio lessons?
Can anyone recommend a good audio Spanish language set. I have VERY limited Spanish and would like to improve during my rather lengthy commute.
Many I've priced on the internet are either pretty pricey or intended for elementary kids--which may just be my level.

spanish learning CD's
I too am looking for some good learning tapes/CD's I drive to Baja/ Loreto/ LaPaz every year and to SanQuintin 4or 5 times a year. with all that
driving in Baja Mex. I still dont speak much spanish. any good recommendations for learning material.

We recently bought the "Living Language" series and although I have not spent too much time on it yet, I'm not all that impressed. You have to read
the chapter in the workbook before you try the same chapter on the CD. May work OK when we are on the road (I could read the chapter out loud to my
husb while he drives??) I'm also interested in any other options. If there is anyone on this board from Victoria, B.C., know of any good classes?

audio spanish
I bought a spanish 2 cd/book/1cd-rom set at ebay last week that I am enjoying while driving. It's called Musical Spanish:Lessons for the Road. It
breaks down song lyrics for pronunciation, grammar,vocabulary. There is also another CD by this publisher for learning verbs and tenses. The web site

You can read about it there and then check ebay. I recommend the CD's that come with the book. The book is very useful, but you don't need it to
listen to the CD's.

I bought a CD set at CoscCo and it is decent. My wife is a spanish teacher and she says it has some good stuff on it. If I could just get past being
lazy I might actually learn something.

You need a place to practice the lingo everyday. My wife and 3 kids all had 2 years of spanish in high school and their teachers in the Catholic High
Schools probably never met a Mexican. About 13 years ago, I got into the janitorial business and found no good help except for Mexicans who just came
from Mexico. I had to learn the language fast. I bought a program of 15 tapes and a thick book from a company who supplied the materials for the
US.State Dept. so their agents could learn quickly. The set cost around $600 and was only the first part. I started listening to spanish radio and TV.
I bought a translator for $100 and a college english/spanish dictionary. After 5 tapes I lost interest and learned from my workers who were learning
English. I'm a long way from being fluent, but we get along pretty well. The very first Mexican worker from 13 years ago now e-mails me from L.A. He
graduated from the Univ. of Illinois.
We are God parents to his cousin's daughter. Find a Mexican fluent in both languages and sit under a shade tree and learn. He/she will help with
accents and slang; beats any tape. My friend from La Paz, BCS didn't understand some words from my workers from Vera Cruz.
I guess that's something like Boston talking to Pigeon Forge.
