Watch the cops closely. Don't give them any reason to stop you.
My experience is they are pretty aggressive on getting a free lunch or two.

Heading to Tecate from where?
Tecate is on the border, so if you are going south to Tecate, then nothing to see besides Tecate. The bakery and the brewery are popular.
If you are going north to Tecate from La Paz, then a whole lotta Baja you can see!

Yeah, I agree with JZ. Had a bit of a shakedown/mordida from Tecates finest on my 1st crossing. What helped me was having a dash cam hanging off of my
rear view mirror. This was winter 2019.

The main plaza is nice. CEART has art and performances, good place, but probably closed or limited in covid era...
Not much else in tecate.

Tecate. A great place to fill up on gas, beer, and tacos before heading further south either into the mountains or valle de Guadalupe
