Aqua Verde

I've been to Aqua Verde via Hwy 1, El Huatamote, Ultima Aqua down to Playa San Cosme a scenic and somewhat heartstopping drive at times.

I was wondering what the road condition is like coming in from Ciudad Insurgentes to Los Cerritos and Los Algodones to Aqua Verde route.

Google maps says it's a 4 hr. drive.

Thanks for any info.

Tried it about 3 years ago.

Starting from AV. We made it a good ways on bikes. It is totally washed out. Climbing over huge rocks. You could make it on a bike, but nothing else with the steep drop offs.

My truck was in AV, so we had to turn around.

Definitely want to take another run at it. Having the truck go around to the other side.

the "backdoor" is a great scenic drive
have done it many times
but I have also turned around a few times when it was washed out really bad
downhill is the easier version
the roughest section is right about here: 25°29'0.08"N, 111° 5'15.09"W

one of the failed attempts: https://carlosnpainter.smugmug.com/Travel/Baja-California-No...

in case you need to turn around, the parallel valley to Arroyo San Juan is Arroyo Quepo and a super drive.
Few Gringos ever go.
First Rancho is El Tullilo ( 25°24'18.49"N, 111°10'22.32"W)
in San Miguel de Quepo you turn NW on the road to Jesus Maria
keep going NW to MEX1 (km29)

Awesome photos Harald.

Down hill would definitely be easier.

found one of my trips starting at km29 to Santa Maria, A. Quepo, Agua Verde
almost all images are in Arroyo Quepo
backdoor was a super easy drive that day
the image below is right where it usually is the most difficult
there is one gate that needs attention

I did the drive in my Rzr last November and it was a fun one. Had three other vehicles with me, 2 Suzuki samurais and a jeep. Everyone made it fine but I can see where going the other direction would be more fun. Great fish tacos on the beach at AV.

Off grid, 12-190 watt evergreen solar panels on solar trackers, 2-3648 stacked Outback inverters, 610ah LiFePo4 48v battery bank, FM 60 and MX60 Outback charge controllers, X-240 Outback transformer for 240v from inverters, 6500 watt Kubota diesel generator.

Just like most Baja roads, it can be good one year and impassable the next. I have driven my Dodge pickup with camper up to the top from AV (3 years ago) but the next year the road was out.

This is not true overall. And not close to true in relationship to this discussion.

Slick,
Why is his trip account not true? Are you calling him a liar?

Read the original post....he is asking for road conditions.
Stop pretending to be such an expert ...

And my pet stalker shows his face again.

95% of the posts you make on this board are related to stalking me. Why?

At least this time you didn't quote me from random boating or college football forums that you spent hours searching for.

How old are you?
