My TMobile unlimited plan lets me phone and text all of North America when I'm in Mexico. Fast data is on roaming, and slows down to 2g or 3g speed
after 200mb.

Geography:
Calexico is an American city. The name combines CALifornia and mEXICO for CALEXICO.
Across the border is Mexicali, capital of the state of Baja California. The name combines MEXIco and CALIfornia for MEXICALI.

yes, thank you, I did mean Mexicali. Yesterday was an extremely stressful day and I typed the incorrect place. You never know what is going on with a
person so it's usually best to just be kind.
Thank you re: the phone answers. I had time this morning to call my phone co. and yes, I'm all set.

So....will my USA phone plan work in Plaza La Cachanilla (Thanks for the map)?
Will my Covid vaccine work there as well?

I can't vouch for how new this information is, but this website gives a rundown on cell coverage in Mexico for the major carriers. I use Google Fi, which is a combination of TMobile and Sprint,
whereas my wife uses AT&T. Both automatically roam on the Telcel mobile network when in Mexico. Cellphone reception in Mexico is spotty, not to
different from where I live on Cape Cod.

I use an ATT prepaid phone, which mostly roams on Telcel, but in the La Paz area it now connects on ATTMX towers. It connects flawlessly for calls to
the US, and other ATT phones, but I have had a few glitches calling local (La Paz) numbers.
My cost per minute is the same as in the US, instead of the higher Telcel roaming rate.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

T Mobile works in TJ, Mexicali, La Paz and Los Cabos! Go to Telcel buy a burner phone and a Mexican SIM pay 200 pesos of service and actually have
phone service and data in Baja!

Cell phones in Mexico
We found the cheapest way to go for Canadians was swap sim when we get to Mexico and use the Telcel prepaid "Amigo"plan. We had to carry another
Canadian based cell to get those troublesome banking confirmation texts for our Canadian accounts. When we get back to Canada we swap back to the
Canadian carrier's sim.
The best alternative seemed to be a Mexican phone with dual sim's and you use one sim in Canada, the other sim in Mexico. Only available in Mexico,
eh? Pity

I called T mobile and my phone has normal, regular service in Mexico. You just have to turn the "data roaming" feature on.
