Last Posts

After debating the validity of concerns over the "views" situation, I have become exceedingly concerned with another issue closer to my heart;

"Being the last poster"

on any given subject.

Is one to be offended that their post chased away all good conversation on the topic, that no-one wants to play with them....?

Or should they feel swelled that they got in the last word; ending the need for further discussion ?

And how the h-ll do you put those danged smiley faces on your posts ?

I think I need to go contemplate these feelings alone; maybe go fishing ?
Too bad it's 44 degrees and raining...
Is it too early to start drinking ?

Can I get a new diaper over here ?

Diver
the best thing to do is post what your feeling and don't worry about anything else. ill always be some who likes it and some who don't . I find you git a lot more replays from the people who disagree. it is human nature to take the time to complain but never to have time to praise.

Diver, I have thought about that same thing myself. A lot of threads seem to end by my post being the last one. However, if the thread doesn't have to do with information about Baja, I usually let a bunch of people say what they have to say before I chime in. By then, the tread is just about dried up. Well, that's how I'm looking at it anyway.

An interesting idea...

I often wonder about the psychology involved in these "blind" conversations. I too have felt that many of my posts seemed to slence a thread. We can't read body language here. We all "speak" with varying levels of competency (spelling and grammar). There IS some ego involved.
I'm sure our tax dollars must have funded a learned study by now. As for me, the number of views doesn't affect me, but the author and most recent respondent often tells me which threads won't get another view from me.

I always wondered about being the last person...and in fact I have to post anonymously here so I won't have my name attached to the last post in this thread...I don't need the anxiety!;)

Bruce,

At great risk of being the "LAST POSTER",
I must say that based on some of your recipes, I would gladly lose and pay for dinner if you will cook !

Maybe we can get Pompano to bring the fish !

(Oops, how many people is that anyway ?)

I always figure when I'm "Last Poster" that I gave them the info they were looking for.

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. I've always thought that I get more than my fair share of last posts, and assumed this was because the posts were boring. But to judge from all the entries on this thread, either that feeling is catching, or a lot of other Nomads are boring, too.

I have found the best way to not be the last poster is to misspell a couple of words. then some one will post the corrections.
