Technically you are correct. I should have been more specific in my wording. My point in the “ropa quemada” was that it’s derived from the weapon being discharged at such a close range that clothing may actually show signs of being burnt.
My apologies to any persons that may have suffered a setback in their linguistic studies or possibly may have failed their Spanish exam.
I will take more care when posting to not make such an egregious error in the future.
