New development coming to Todos Santos

The Gringo Gazette isn't always a fountain of knowledge, but new development in Todos Santos is a pretty sure bet.

We looked inside of the restaurant last time we were at the bank! It’s very nice! We plan on eating there when next we’re there.

I rarely pay California prices down there. Won't be going. Food as good or better in Pesky. Tourists love Todos and Cabo sends them up by bus loads. Great for the economy.

US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.

What I say before any important decision.
F*ck it.

Thankfully you don't have walk more than a few blocks from Hotel California to avoid the selfie sticks and the high prices they attract. We had 10 delicious tacos and 4 margaritas at "5 Tacos and a Beer" less than 2 KM from downtown Todos Santos and paid 600 pesos (less than $30). When we cook our own meals, we spend even less.

As for oysters, we can buy 25 directly from the fishermen in nearby Wellfleet for $25, as long as we're willing to shuck them ourselves.

Goat,

It’s obvious you don’t get out much! The $1 menu at Mickey D’s has gotten real thin! Most places coffee is now over a dollar! (7.5% inflation rate!)

actually, I am a gourmand, and i find some things at McDs quite good.
perfect road food when you just want a quick drive-thru when burning up miles on the highway.
they got great fries.
their QPWC is great, especially if you add extra onions and pickles.
smoothies aren't bad.
coffee is passable, not bitter like the other common drive-thru, starbucks.

What does your restaurant review have to do with cheap old white men complaining about dollar menu items?

Well the Sr. Coffee at D’s is $1.28 (?) not $3-4 like some places and it’s good coffee! Most of the food there sucks!

You can drop a hundred bucks at Oystera for a lunch for two, and need to grab a couple of tacos on the way home because your still hungry.

We're perfectly happy eating somewhere with tasty food for a reasonable price in a casual setting, wearing sandals and t-shirts and shorts. Fortunately there are still plenty of those options in Todos Santos and Pescadero if one knows where to look. I'll leave Oystera and Hotel California to the tourists.

I'm practicing my vocabulary every day, and I have a weekly intercambio with Juan from the YouTube Channel "Spanish Around". I can read and write Spanish reasonably well, but for me the Holy Grail is every day conversation. Todos Santos has plenty of bilingual workers in restaurants and shops, but the fun starts a few blocks away from the main drag, when buying fish, meat or produce. I'm hoping my next visit will be long enough to get into the flow language-wise, and to tap into the vibe of the pueblo.

My observation has been that a very common obstacle for beginners is not being willing to sound like Tarzan when they first engage in Spanish conversations.
