Rentals
Where is the best place to find house rentals in Baja? We are looking at next winter in San Felipe and other points South. We don't need much but do
have two small dogs. Is there a rental company or do you check with the local real estate offices?
We are looking for several weeks to a month at a time, newly retired and ready to travel. We will probably have our SXS and a moto with us as
well, so parking or garage would be nice. Any ideas or references would be appreciated.

I haven't look at CL but I have poked around AirBNB a little. Is it common for them to rent longer term then just a few nights? Thanks

Not during high season - Oct/Nov through April/May - which is when most people want long term rentals.

We have rented on AirBnB for up to 6 weeks in other areas, generally found a significant (15% or more) discount for anything longer than 4 weeks, and
of course the cleaning fees decline as a percentage of per day fees. May be hard to find one that is open for that long a stretch, so we often fill
unavailable periods in with a local hotel or another close by AirBnB.

Baraka en Todos rents out properties in the Todos Santos area and offers a discount for longer rentals.

Thanks Don, JD and others. We are pretty flexible and could do the same as far as filling in with hotels. Air BnB seems to be geared more for the
short stays but I guess some emails might work that out.

A possibility in San Felipe
About five years ago, my Kia broke down driving through San Felipe, right across the street from the Oasis Market. About the time I figured out what
was wrong, the owner of the market said in perfect English "Looks like you need a mechanic. With his help, arrangements were made for a speedy
repair.
While I was enjoying coffee and deli cuisine in his market, he mentioned that he has a Cabaña behind the store that is available for rent. It is
behind the store in a large fenced yard, with gated access from the ally behind the lot.
It looked like a good place to park securely, and I think it might fit your needs. There was a wood stove, if you are there in colder weather, and my
dog would have been able to stay with me if I wanted to rent the unit.
I was an my way north, so didn't stay, but I have always thought that would be a good option for me if I wanted to spend time in San Felipe.
Do a search and street view on Google Earth of "Mar Caribe Sur No. 208 San Felipe, B.C." The owner is Enrique, and if you think you might be
interested in a non-tourist accommodation, I could U2U the number on his business card.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

AK, is this by chance the market on the right side as you head North out of SF? across from Eldorado Ranch, kind of a little shopping center?

No, Henry's store is south of the round about on the road headed toward the airport and south campos. It would be on the right headed south.

Perfect, thanks I'll check it out.
The FB group looks like a promising lead as well.
