Tecate immigration

Hi , can anyone tell me what time the immigration office opens at the border crossing in Tecate? We are getting an early start and crossing into Mexico around 6am. Can we get our FMM at that time ?

Thanks

The INM must be open the same hours as the border is open.
That said, there are no guarantees in Mexico! The INM agent may be getting donuts and coffee when you arrive! Just don't be in a hurry, learn to run on Mexican time, and enjoy the simple life...

Parking there can be difficult
I tried to get mine a couple months ago and they waved me past and I had to park and walk back
I took a quick right, another right and parked just a block away, right next to the big border fence
Easy walk back, but again, they were i no mood to let me park right in front. Guess that is reserved for checking under your floormats.

About a month ago we crossed at about 6:20 AM. There was nobody at the immigration desk. We had to wait about 45 minutes before the guy arrived for work.

Were I to do it again I would wait until about 7 am to cross with somebody needing their tourist visa.

If you can go the day before your crossing. Easy to park on the US side and walk over to get your FMM, pesos from the bank ATMs by the square, a free Tecate at the brewery, and some tacos before you walk back to the US side.
