Bahia. Vs. LB or. LV
I am a winsurfer I have never been to Baja . What about Bahia? It is about 500 miles less driving then LB or LV. Or just suck it up and drive the
extra distance for the other two destinations?
Also in la Ventana has anyone stayed at the hostel? It is about a mile and a half to the beach so I guess I’d have to drive each day with my gear.
Has anyone stayed at Kurt n marina ? It’s right on the beach but of course it’s more expensive
Verdugos looks great as well. Thank you for opinions

I never see wind surfers, usually only see kiters.
La ventana seems to be where the kiters flock together in large gaggles.
Woke!

Bahia de Los Angeles has windy days but is not a reliable predictable windy location, whereas LV/LB is typically windy 4-5 days a week more or less
Nov-March. On the coast there are a number of wave spots, like San Carlos, Abreojos, La Bocana, El Conejo.
The LV Hostel is a great place to stay that has a good vibe, a large lounge kitchen and deck, a smoothie juice bar and it's central to the action so
you can walk everywhere or join group adventures.
LB tends to have more swell and a bit less reliable wind but is an excellent place as well. Martin Verdugos is a camp and hotel in town or te second
arroyo is a lace where people camp without services, there is also a camp ground next to the arroyo with services $$$.
All locations have paid or free camping, and tons of spots to stay but become pricey during the peak season $us100-200/night, make reservations now.
Both have FB groups dedicated with tons of info available to search.
LV has a number of Windsurf Kite Wing hotels with experts and gear like ProLeisure, BajaJoes, Windsurf La Ventana, etc other spots include La Ventana
Beach resort, Villa Paraiso, and tons of options.

Tons of 'bahías' in Baja (it means bay)... Bahía de los Angeles (L.A. Bay) has fierce winds, but they are not predictable.. strong for a few days
then dead calm.

Another consideration is where you would rather be if the wind is not right for sailing. I am not a kiter, or boarder, but if I am shore bound I
would rather be in Los Barriles.
There are a lot of nice drives in that area.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

Los Barilles and La Ventana has a growing pickle ball scene which is a lot of fun early in the morning and there are activities north and south, but,
it is among the most expensive place in Mexico next to Cabo and the average age is 60-70, plus a bunch of obnoxious quad and side by side crazies who
cause havoc on the beach and roads, while, La Ventana is full of young athletic people from around the world, biking is popular with excellent trails,
parties nightly versus bar scene(if that's your scene), driving on the beach is frowned on, and the wind tends to be much more consistent with a
thermal on top of el norte, last year it was windy more than 110 Fays in a row. You can check wind archives over the years at http://iwindsurf.com or ikitesurf.com.
LV and LB are only one hour apart, and the coast isn't far either, being mobile in a camper is optimum to visit everywhere with a home base. La Paz
offers some benefits such as inexpensive shopping and more sights and events.
Both are becoming very crowded peak season, depending on outcomes this year will be the most crowded ever...

Good observations Gnukid! I confess that I am in the older end of the Baja visitor spectrum, and my feeling for Los Earriles is based more on how it
was quite a few years ago.
I still enjoy going there, but rarely spend more than a day or two before moving on to someplace more remote. I don't party anymore, and don't like
trying to sleep near one!

Paul, you speak of 60-70 YO as a bad thing. Paul, you are 58, you are that demographic!

San Carlos in Sonora has a world class spot. Very consistent wind for several months late fall to early spring.
The best spot has a low lying reef that blocks the waves but lets the NW wind through.
4-5hr drive from the border.

Lots of beach bars on that stretch of beach.
