Update 10/5.....A recommended mechanic in Todos Santos?
I am here for a few weeks, and need the CV joints replaced in my Trooper. I was going to have it done in Northern CA, but my mechanic went AWOL.
I brought them down with me, and even paid import duty on them!

Go south to Pescadero there’s a mechanic/oil change/tire shop on the right side by the 1st speed bump. They do good work.

Victor is a well-established mechanic in Todos Santos. His father owns
the auto parts store downtown Todos Santos. Victor is across the street from the mercado, El Sol ll. He and his mechanics are very good,
stand behind their work and not expensive.

Thank you CaboMagic, and cabobaja for the suggestions. I hope something can work out with Victor, I think that is walking distance from where I am
now.
The repair is not urgent, but hopefully I can find someone who will get the job done, and have me on my way in a few hours.

AKgringo, make an appointment with Victor and you'll be in and out
in reasonable time. He will give you a quote.

Victor did good!
I had the CV joints with me, but other parts were needed that caused my Trooper to tie up one of his stalls for three days, instead of the one we
thought the job would require.
The price was fair, and I have confidence in their work! The trooper has been good to me, so I asked Victor to give me a price on new shocks for the
trip back north. I should have that estimate tomorrow.

They came with their boots on.

Glad you like it! I thought it had a nicer context than "The boots are pre-installed".

Your old ones "died with their boot on" I presume?

The old boots died first, taking the joints out from exposure to dirt and water.
The trooper was so happy to get new joints installed, that i went ahead and threw new shocks on as well. The ride home is going to be better than the
ride south!
