"Thumbs Up" ok?

I know in some countries the 'thumbs up' does not mean 'good job'. How about in Mexico in general and Mexico City in particular?
No sense getting in more trouble than we are likely to get into on our own.

No mistaking a Shaka, mon. Can't think of too many countries where thumb up is a negative. Iran/Iraq.

US Marines: providing enemies of America an opportunity to die for their country since 1775.

"The thumbs-up gesture is a sign of approval in most countries.

However, in several countries in West Africa and the Middle East, including Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan, the gesture has the connotation of "up yours!" It's used the same way the middle finger is in the US."
