Fall 2022 Baja trip video

I put together a video of our Oct / Nov Baja trip if anyone is interested. The video is located on YouTube HERE. Some day I'll figure out how to embed a video directly into a post.

Other than losing the vacuum pump (and subsequently my brakes) 4 hours into the trip it was another fantastic Baja trip! I'll be heading down again Feb / March solo to do some exploring. My wife isn't so much the 4 wheeling explorer type so I'll go find more wife friendly spots to take her to later.

Enjoy!

excellent thanks for sharing.

Before I retired every time we took a news van into the local FORD dealer for a repair we had to take it back at least once sometimes twice before they got it right. It looks like they may have fixed those issues.

Again thanks

Good job on the video! I forward clips like yours to a couple of friends and family members on the hopes that they will be insoired to join me next time I go poking around Baja looking for a new favorite spot!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

How to:
1) Take just the code from the YouTube URL. So from this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ui8xXRtMI88
use this: ui8xXRtMI88

2) Put that between the Nomad tags for YouTube video posting:
with the image size included. I use =640x480 for YouTube image size.

Here is the code with a space added after the 480, so it doesn't open followed by what happens with the space removed:

pjpvi, you have a great camera eye!
Wonderful selection of photos and the videos, too.
I hope you could repair that awning!

Thank you David. Unfortunately this event marked the end for this awning. It twisted the aluminum badly and destroyed one of the "arms". I had a similar event happen on a previous Baja trip when I was by myself. It didn't damage it and I was able to remount it by myself which was no small effort (these things are heavy when you are a proverbial 140lb aging weakling).

This time I strapped it to the roof with the intent of depositing it in the Loreto landfill but passed a recycler south of Loreto, pulled a u-turn and stopped to see if they wanted it for the aluminum. The girl there gladly accepted it so hopefully it was stripped for it's aluminum or better yet, maybe a resourceful local has repurposed it. Way better than adding to the landfill!

Here's the recycler I dropped it at. Found it on Google Maps street view.

Haha. That is a very valid repurposing of it as the fabric was still good.

Thanks again everyone for the kind comments and Happy New Year (almost)!

Thanks for all the nice comments! I greatly appreciate it.

I don't think I'll be making it La Bocana way this trip Blanca. I hope the family is doing well and kids are getting to use the baseball gear we dropped off last trip there!
