Banjercito TIP return location in Los Algodones? Not that I see...
Wow. Not so easy to find a Banjercito for a TIP return. The Banjercito sight is pretty painful to navigate and it's looking like Tecate is our option
unless someone here knows of an easier one for our exit back to FLG next month. That is if and only if, the snow has quit by then! I'm preferring a
California crossing because I'm planning on bringing a lot of Tequila back this time around and AZ is much more strict with their limits. Any help?
Thanks,
John

Have done the one at the Nogales truck crossing about a dozen times. You don't even have to get out of your truck. Very fast.
Then on to Tucson. Just play dumb with the liquor and keep it out of sight.

California is one litre per adult... However, maybe with out-of-state plates, they won't enforce that?

JZ, that has always been my modus operandi in the past. The Mariposa TIP kiosk is indeed a breeze, but we want to cross at Los Algodones after our
dentist appointments there. David, I found this and it was what I was going by. So, now it seems whatever crossing I use I will be playing playing
dumb as it has worked well for me lo these many years. Thanks all.

I have SPECIFICALLY POINTED THIS OUT TO THE CBP OFFICIALS ENTERING ARIZONA, when I had South Dakota plates and they refused to allow more than a liter
per person. CBP is apparently not bound by any stinkin' State rules, it seems.
Good luck with trying this, entering California.
I have no advice about returning TIPs in Baja. It seems the Mexican government hasn't considered someone might enter Baja from the mainland and cross
back into the US at any number of major border crossings.
I suppose the incentive of making the return of the bond so difficult that people simply eat the bond, is too attractive to them.

OK, so I found the CBP site and they state that;
"Federal and state regulations allow you to bring back one liter of an alcoholic beverage for personal use duty-free. However, states may allow you to
bring back more than one liter, but you will have to pay any applicable Customs duty and IRT."
https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/kbyg/custo...
Arizona says;
" the amount of spirituous liquor imported does not exceed the amount permitted by federal law to be imported duty-free, in any period of thirty-one
days, except that if the federal law prescribing such duty-free limitation is repealed or amended, then in no event shall the amount of duty-free
importation into this state be more than one liter of spirituous liquor during such period.."
https://www.azliquor.gov/faq/SearchResults2.cfm
So what I'm reading is that in AZ, there is no chance to declare and then pay a duty? Not the case in California. I just want to take home and share
some of my new favorite Tequilas. Is that too much to ask?
As far as the TIP goes, we're going to visit Valle de Guadelupe on the way and so will be able to turn it in at Tecate or Mexicali, then on over to
Los Algodones for the crossing. I'm leaning towards Tecate. Thanks all.
