Mexicali East construction

1) They have dug up the entrance to the Mexican gates. The result is a detour on the sidewalk resulting long delays.
2) The favored route south the crosses Hwy 2 and leads to Highway 5 thru the industrial park is all dug up and your in car navigation will be required to find a street that lead all around and back to the industrial park. A difficult task in the dark last night.

Strongly recommend using the green route or Algodones or San Luis for now.

Thanks for that information.

I got caught in that on the way south. Had to make an interesting detour with my large truck camper.

I don't cross that often, but I believe that I have never been able to make it through Mexicali without encountering a different detour either added to, or replacing the previous ones.

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Paul, what is meant by "mexican gates"? Doesn't the green route go thru the mexican border gates? Sentri lane for us....

We drove down in late Nov and the preferred route was easy. Is the construction where the blue circles is drawn?

Thx

Gates are just before - on the north side - the inspection people. Big hole dug in one lane before it becomes 4 lanes. Tight squeeze to get past the hole and barricades.

Yes all possibilities to cross Hwy 2 were blocked

That was 2-5 at 5PM. Who knows to status after 6 days?

No update at this time.

I'm a bit confused, are you reporting 2 separate issues that do not have anything to do with the other, or is this all within the blue circle?

That construction in the blue circle has been going on since like October/November. A detour of a couple blocks East or West gets through that no problem.

I'm still confused what you mean by the gates thing. Is there construction at the border? Does it affect Southbound or Northbound traffic? How long was the additional delay?

Thanks.

Two places as stated.
1) entrance to MX at the gates.
2) at hwy2 crossing.
