Aside from those fresh water swimming holes, that all looks pretty familiar to me. I have made the trip over that road from both directions at least a half dozen times.

On each trip, I try to find a new spot for my dog and I to spend some time and have never been disappointed.

I have driven it in my 2 door Kia Sportage, and my Trooper, and only once had to briefly use 4wd. That was after hurricane Odile, and the ranchers who use that road had not been able to repair it yet.

Having said that, it can be a challenge going over that mountain pass. Ground clearance and wheel placement is more critical than traction after a storm.
