Current status of Mexicali East?

The border wait time page indicates the Ready lane is closed and the Standard lane is processed through all 6 ports. Is the entry to the Standard lane now the old Ready lane route and should be approached only from the west? What is the progress on the construction in the area?

Mexicali East crossing during the latest construction

Ready lane is closed and now is dedicated for RVs and trailers. That lane will transition to the far right lane on the US side.
Important to approach the crossing from the WEST not the East.
If you come from the east you will be waved to go the the west crossing. However maybe you can do a U turn and get it correct.
We know all this is correct based on real reports from people that have done it.

Read my thread on the same subject and find maps for west entry.
If you are good with Google Earth you can use an east approach and cut back west on the airport road to find a good highway to the border west of the crossing.
Do NOT follow the road the turns east at the first signal on Hwy 5. That route is under construction for a badly needed new bridge at Hwy 2.

Sentri is unchanged.

So, standard, non RV vehicles should line in the left hand lane (coming from the west) where the Ready Lane used to line up. Sentri then goes just right of that lane and makes the wide turn just as in the past. Large vehicles stay right and go into the old standard lane entrance. Is that correct?

As you enter.
Sentri is the left line. Ready Is right line.

The old Standard entry on the far right or eastern most line is no longer in use due to construction.

If you do not have Sentri then you have no choice but the Ready which has become the Standard lane.

Update from my friend
Mexicali east crossing going north
"Came across Mexicali on Thursday (9-26) no cars in the RV lane, you can pull a small trailer in the Ready Lanes as well, but they were much longer. The RV lane is the far right lane, it has been closed for a long time, but it's open now, you have on come at it from the East side the turn right in to the slip/turning lane. Look at Google maps you will see it."
