Permits are costly, highly restrictive, and time-consuming for you own firearm. For your first experience you might consider using a licensed outfitter and his equipment. Remington 1100's are popular as are Browning OU's if you are a wingshooter.

There are lots of hunting opportunities all over Mexico, including Baja Sur.

thanks...I want to have a permit for my own weapon. We have lots of ranch land in the family and it's crawling with critters.

I am both a big game guy and a bird guy...german shorthair onsite and goes nuts a 1000x a day with the quail teasing her..she even howls at times

is the guy above a guide or can he help with gun/hunting permits?

Here's one for big game, (deer-sheep) but I have no personal experience with them. Heard they were good back in the day.

Another that has some good info on guides. I have used more on the mainland than Baja. We mostly freerange here with rancero amigos. Good luck and good hunting.

Love the shorthairs. Hunt with a couple regulary, also a chocolate lab for anything with webbed feet.

Belong to a gun club in La Paz. It was founded in 1953, takes a lot of work to get the yearly transportation permits etc. Last time a person with an fm2 joined, the General said this would be the last Norte Americano to get gun permits. I think the club in San Jose would be easier to join, you could contact Chucky Van Warmer as I know he is a member there. I know of at least one American that joined that club last year. Good luck...

Thanks for the info..Is that chucky van wormer from Barriles? Anyone have contact info they can u2u me...it'd be much appreciated.

The general? is that the attorney General? Isn't he is no more?

Once again thanks for the help.

Anyone else familar with the San Jose club?

With the permit can I bring my guns from the states into the country, or do I need to buy the guns and ammo here?
