Thanks. Smooth concrete roads sure beat bumpy dirt roads in the city.
I'll be checking it out myself real soon. motoged - 10-9-2015 at 09:48 AM
Richard,
Thanks for the drive out to the lighthouse....a good way to start my day
Sure hope it holds up.....
mtnpop - 10-9-2015 at 10:33 AM
Richard,
Looks like some recent rain and runoff .... lots of green along the RiIO...
hope to be there in about 3 weeks just in time to go trick or treating..
with a margarita glass.....
I would surmise that no work has been don along the south side of the rio.... probably not gonna happen in my lifetime... keeps the traffic down
toward the Jungle tho...
take care and see you soon

A smooth road takes away all the fun.chippy - 10-9-2015 at 11:16 AM
That buggy is so fast you where 10 days in the future. Cool video. GoPro?
Great video
akmaxx - 10-9-2015 at 11:58 AM
Your setup is very cool and I bet it will be great on the desert runs as well. I owe you a tall one or some more super coffee for this Ricardo.
Not to hijack toooooo much but I have the only property for sale on the beach at around minute 4 in this video. Only 4 easy minutes from downtown to
the only beachfront building lot available in Mulege. All power, water, trash, internet, etc is available with the convenience of being in town
combined with the quiet, isolation, unobstructed views, and being above the flood plain of that this perfect lot affords.
This video doesn't show the building lot because it is off the main road a few hundred feet to the left of the beach restaurant Almeja shown in the
video.
Cool drive looks like a great daymicah202 - 10-9-2015 at 01:05 PM
.
....wowww,,very different than a couple of years ago.
That open malecon section seems rather empty,,how about a big development with lots of businesses,,condo's,,,
. ...oh waidaminute! jbcoug - 10-9-2015 at 01:19 PM
Thanks Richard,
That is a ton of progress since I visited in Feb. Enjoyed the ride along! You need to sign up with Uber in case I need a lift the next time I'm
around.KurtG - 10-9-2015 at 01:24 PM
What a difference from when we were there in March. Glad to see that traffic no longer goes through Manuel's campground. I'll be back in Mulege
later this month.willyAirstream - 10-9-2015 at 01:43 PM
The south road is in very bad shape and no work is being done, but yeap, no traffic
Smooth road and LESS dust!
Lots of rain lately, in fact it has been thundering and lightning all day with dark clouds overhead. Nights have been cool and day temps are now
perfect.
I was wondering who would notice my time machine, Further into the Future, (sp intentional) It is a Sony Action Cam, better sensor and less expensive
than the GP, and shoots in 170 or 120 degrees. But the accessory roll bar mount sux, in fact both mounts, one sony and one Chinese, both allowed the
cam to vibrate. I now have thru bolted it to the dash. If you are into cams, ck out Power Director video editing software... wow and wow!
Notice the single palapa near the beginning of the malecon? They are supposed to be building more there and there are new ones by the lighthouse, very
popular.
No problem Max, but don't put the coffee in a paper bag this time Might as well
give a plug to Keith also http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=79930
his place is up the hill from where the car was broken down.
In the evenings, the Malecon comes alive with joggers, walkers and small gatherings. Lighting has been started, but no recent work.micah202 - 10-9-2015 at 02:54 PM

oh goody...I guess they're holding off on condo's for another year or two,,,,until everyone's memories fade a bit more. mtnpop - 10-9-2015 at 03:10 PM
Richard,
So would I be correct in the assumption that on the south side there is still no road from the Oasis past the Orchard, Leon's place to the concrete
slab dropping to under the bridge???
and if I understand you, they have not plugged in the street lights along the new north side road.???
can't wait to hear the all night parties over there this winter... will have to turn up my sound system... mulegemichael - 10-9-2015 at 03:32 PM
looks good, richard...now, no storms, please.....see ya at the end of the month!willyAirstream - 10-9-2015 at 03:46 PM
Yes, street lighting was started, some poles are in place but the wire is not buried yet. They have been installing the new lamps ( bulbs ) in town
tho. They had super bright lights by my place, I could read at night with out turning on my lighting. My neighbor complained and they replaced them
with smaller lamps. Perfect now.
South road details
From the Jungla to the lighthouse is questionable at best, flooded at high tide, eroded in several places. Doable with a quad, but a car will have
trouble.
Taking a left, toward town from the Jungla, the road is too narrow for a car by Jannines place. Open from Bill and Judys to the Orchard.
From the Orchard to town is completely washed away, Sorry, Cervasa Fria, have not seen your place lately. Leon's house and the other house are at the
waters edge now. It would be a huge, gigantic project to bring back access to town from the rio road. But with the new political party there is a
chance.
No time shares or condos until Mulege can afford a street sweeper machine
btw, Zulema is working days now at El Candal, formerly Scottys and is glad to see more gringos around pics laterStuckSucks - 10-9-2015 at 05:11 PM
Compare/contrast. Here's a photo sphere of the old, washed-out concrete road, out in the rio:
Some things don't change, Zulema is back at Scottys. This is for your morning coffee Ged.

Richard,
A nice smile goes well with coffee BajaBlanca - 10-10-2015 at 03:03 AM
that is a great video! ncampion - 10-10-2015 at 07:18 AM
Nice video, Richard. We took a drive out that road last week when we came to see you. Hope the road stays there this time.Sweetwater - 10-10-2015 at 05:47 PM
Great time machine video. Was there a soundtrack that I missed? Maybe something from the new/old Man from Uncle......
That's fantastic! And good to see there is still some dirt out at the east end!
Thanks for the comments on the Sony cam, I've been wondering how GP alternatives stack up in the real off-road world.
I suppose now we have to start wearing helmets like in La Paz!willyAirstream - 10-11-2015 at 01:50 PM
Sweetwater good pick!
There is no sound as the pos strap on the mount was flapping against the mic. While watching the vid, just practice rolling your Rs sounds just like a
VW engine
Al...The Sony lets you overay a dashbd with miles per hr/alt/location /your track with location sync]d with the video and more, pretty cool set up.
more pics of the south side
pic above is the RV lot for sale/rent by the Deams, by the green building
[Edited on 10-11-2015 by willyAirstream]mtnpop - 10-11-2015 at 02:11 PM
The orange building isn't a part of the sale/rent. just the green building and lot... the lot with the orange building may be for sale and or rent but
would have to check if anyone is interested..
the estuary is close to the park along the Orchard with no access to town.willyAirstream - 10-11-2015 at 02:39 PM
Thanks, I edited my post.
Yes, from Stu's place onward is not passable.mtnpop - 10-11-2015 at 02:47 PM
does not look like it is passable from about the area in front of the green and orange buildings... toward town... Stu's lot must be all in the
federal zone now... not a pretty sight... Leon looks like he just survived not getting washed away...
We had heard that the contract was signed to rebuild the south river road last spring but I doubt that will happen in the near future...
We will see you in a couple of weeks... cliffh - 10-11-2015 at 04:31 PM
Great pics, last oct. we stopped at Questa Real RV for one night, we had been staying there twice a year since Ken was there, so I could slide in to
the Jungle for a CUBA or 2. We always stayed 2 or 3 nights on the way north and the on the return home in Oct. What kind of shape is it in? Last year
it was a mess. Thanks Cliff willyAirstream - 10-11-2015 at 05:57 PM
Cuesta Real is now run by Sandra's brother, Mario. It is in good shape, except the restaurant is closed due to Oldlie last year. Pool is open and
always clean. Still a good place to stay and the Jungla has the usual crowd, sadly with a couple of reserved stools now available.cervezafrio - 10-11-2015 at 09:29 PM
A Pile on. Richard always nice to view the local area. I seems that the local people have more faith than the part time border crossers. They are
making improvements in the danger zone. It is the culture. Why give up when times are difficult. A Mexican friend of my used to say '' life with out
problems is not life''. Maybe that is why their culture has lasted hundreds of years and more. While the northern border crossers get angry and rude
when they can not get on Facebook or send a text immediately. That lack of strengthen of history and pride plus character will be the demise of the
'great satin' as some errantly refer to U.S.-A travesty for sure.
Airstream thanks for the pictures but you stopped one lot short. Another of the place down stream of the Alamo would be appreciated..... Mtn. Poops
how you doing? Still stirring the pot.Vince - 10-12-2015 at 02:30 PM
Nice new malecon going there. A big improvement over my first walk along that road from our boat to town, 50 years ago. Marc - 10-12-2015 at 05:31 PM
Really boring. I can't believe I watched it twice.willyAirstream - 10-12-2015 at 06:00 PM
