Sad News....

With a Heavy Heart, I'm posting about the passing of a very true Baja Nomad. My Good Friend and fishing buddy, Russ Blackman (known by Nomads as "Bonehead") has passed on to a Peaceful place. He left us on Thursday night after a long battle with cancer. He Loved Baja and Punta Chivato, where he spent many years. He was Famous for his photos from his front porch. He will be deeply missed by his friends from Chivato and his family,
who he loved very much. Rest in Peace our Dear friend, Russ.

Very sad, Russ (his Nomad name was Russ), was a very kind and hospitable man who lived on Shell Beach, Punta Chivato. I was his guest on two of my 2017 mapping trips. His photos looking South to Bahía Concepción were very enjoyable.
Vaya con Dios, amigo Russ!

I never actually got to meet Russ, but we exchanged U2U messages and a few posts over a couple of years.

The one time I made it out to his home on the beach, he was out fishing! His wonderful dog named Mason kept us company for a few hours, and my dog thought he was special.

DEP Russ!

The Bay of Concepcion where life begins, and unfortunately ends at times.

The treasures we treasure pass on their own time. As long as we remember them, they live on.

Peace love and fish tacos, and so much more in this season of giving thanks for the gift each of us has been given by our shared love of Baja and its down to earth people.
