DirecWay Internet Service in Baja California Sur

DirecWay Satellite Internet Service in Baja California Sur!

With more than a dozen installations in the area from Guerrerro Negro south to La Paz, all without a hitch, you can be assured of good consistent service using a Certified DirecWay Installer. (A graduate of Hughes DirecWay Installers School).

Once your system is installed you can begin to use VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) telephone service of your choice at a cost of about 3 cents a minute in most of the world.

And if you choose, you can then install wireless equipment that would allow you to provide wireless internet service to your friends and neighbors.

All this with a minimum of problems and cost.

DirecTV vs DirecWay

Capn Mike,

Hughes Corp sold DirecTV to the Australian in the past and since then we Certified DirecWay Installers have been advised to let folks know that it is not a good idea to try to use just the one antenna in order to get both Internet and TV.
Further, the need for at least a 1 meter dish in his part of Baja precludes using the same dish.
You can probably find a 1 meter dish in Loreto or at least in La Paz, then just make sure you have an LNB for the appropriate satellite, mount it so the dish has a view of the southern sky, then point the dish to the satellite. Voila, you are able to watch DirecTV.
You will not be able to get all the programming that you are used to getting in Scottsdale, many channels are not available here in this part of Baja. HBO, Showtime, etc., for example you cannot get down here.
At the present time I am subscribed to DTV and get enough of a variety of programming to satisfy my needs. I get not only the locals out of LA, but also the network channels. In addition, I am able to get most of the Starz series.
I hope this helps you in your search for answers.

In Mulege DirectWay says you should NOT use the same dish for TV.

For DirecTV, you must have at least a 1 meter dish.
Wayne does not have these.

We watched the Laker Playoffs down there a couple of years ago.
No problem.

Since you aren't sending a signal aiming the antenna is easy.
Just move the dish around untill you get the picture.

What I've seen is people get a 4 room set and take one down with an extra dish and have the service in Baja...anywhere.

They put the dish right on the ground by their trailer or RV.

New DW 6000 install in San Juanico

Wayne and Mario were the two most popular guys in San Juanico this past week! Came over and installed two new systems in town and upgraded ours to the DW6000 and got us set up for wireless. It look like CompUSA over at our place one afternoon...four wireless laptops going at the same time!
I can't say enough great things about Wayne and his stepson, Mario. If you are even considering having a system put in, Wayne is your guy. He lives in San Lucas Cove, so consider his travel time if you need him to come out if your place is far away. His number is: 011 52 615 160 1009. You need to get the system to him first, but he can tell you how to do it from the states. One more thing is that you can call him if you have a problem and he usually can figure it out over the phone. If not, he seems to always give you options which is a huge plus when you're remote. His stepson, Mario, is picking up the technical talent as well...very nice young man! Thanks again Wayne and Mario!

San Somewhere (Juanico)

That was one fun trip! Both installs went flawlessly and then the fun began.

Juan del Rio is a superb host, good food, and even managed to get Mario a little tipsy!

You all should check out his site http://juanyjuan.com/

My thanks to all those who participated, Mike & Jan, Terry, Carlos the Wizard, Greg and everyone else who made Mario and I feel so welcome.

This ad for this dish has properly been started in a thread where it will get more attention.

DTV is alive and well in BCS.
