Could BOLA be another Loreto, surely you jest!
I constantly hear mention of the place. I can only say I have been there twice, most recently Jan. 04.
To me it didn't appear to me to be a "boom" town of sorts.
I can remember all the hoopla regarding the "Nautical Ladder" proposal and it's subsequent failure . The bay was chosen for many reasons.
Is Bahia de Los Angeles with any services needed for growth or is there an infrastructure capable at all?
Diisparate communities are much harder to develop in grand scale. Especially mega-projects like Loretos' where the developers are certainly dependant
on city services.
I wonder how many desal plants would have to be built in the next 20 years to accompany all the growth we envision.
Where will the power come from? Solar? Wind? What about what to do with all the poo poo.
We shall see....
Did the first "real" gas station ever open?

BOLA is a "sleepy" little burg. i doubt any real serious money will be enticed there. too many other great spots to develop 1st. you have to have a
market to target to acquire investment capital. many more better choices for those that want a nice home right now, all with good water and services.
and ocean!

Bahia Development....
Hmmmm, well this is a question we've all pondered from time to time.
Yes, Bahia is basically just a small, sleepy fishing village for the most part. Still without 24 hour electricity, except what you provide on your
own of course, so there's no nightlife or anything like that. I always shake my head when I hear it called an enclave, because that is far from the
truth. The gringos in Bahia probably maybe number around 100? That would be if they were all there at the same time which never happens. The whole
town itself has less way than 1,000 people I think. But that's off the subject....
Though I think Bahia will be eventually developed, there are many factors that have prevented that from happening thus far. Number one is it's
location, mainly its remoteness from power lines and such. So any development that takes place will have to include gigantic investment in producing
their own power and more than likely water, though there is an excellent source available, and which is currently pumped to town about twice a week.
But they would probably have to truck it in, and that's not gonna fly with a sizable housing development. They would probably have to go de-sal.
So that's a whole lotta $$$$$ and for what return?
The weather is another factor. We get some serious winds down here and they are big turn-off for many people. If the developments go in where I
believe some are proposed, they are in a spot where the winds notoriously blow on a steady basis, especially in the winter.
There has always been talk of something big planned for La Gringa. That might happen if it is going to be done with Government $$ as is the talk.
The bottom line is whoever invests wants to MAKE money. Right now, that is not a feasable proposition because of the factors involved.
And yes, the Pemex station opened many months back and is operating smoothly.

I think the power issue is really minor
The simplest solution would be to install a secondary generator as a backup and run one continuously. Or stagger them.
No, I expect that it is the lack of fresh water and the wind patterns that will put BOLA on the back-burner of development until all the easier areas
are exhausted.
And that's fine with me.......

Who wants to list the top 5-10 areas to develop in order. Maybe two categories. One where things are already in the works and a second one, where
things are just on paper.

Bahiamia...
Aren't they still talking about having electrical power into the Bay from Guerrero Negro soon? Last time we were down we were told that the poles
were in up to Jesus Maria.

Hola Mike...
Yes, that is still being talked about. Some discussions are that a new power plant is to be built in Vizcaino, and that the powe would come from
there, but I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. Would be nice, and I guess they were talking to start work on it soon and work from one end
where the power poles end now, and from Bahia out and then meet in the middle when complete.

They are just about to start a 400 home project. This isn't rumor. I know the developer.

A Gringo. They are currently ramping up a factory in TJ to make modular panels for the home construction. This will be north bay.
